at the game last night less than becoming of Clemson. If the Gamecocks are as lowly as proclaimed on this board, being their "Daddy" is no accomplishment.
I say keep the dirt in Columbia where it belongs. Stay Classy, Clemson!

Just think what the gamecock fans would have chanted if things were reversed. They are a lowly bunch.

Exactly. It’s a rivalry, come on! Lighten up and have fun with owning their #####. People on here claiming, “We should be better than that.” were probably the same old farts sitting on their hands, barely yelling or cheering, then complain about football, basketball, and baseball games not being as loud as they used to be.

As an older fan, I found that enjoyable because that is lightweight to what our fans and players have to put up with when they play in Columbia. Have you ever been to Columbia and got hit in the head with a bottle of water, got a middle finger in the eye, or got cussed out in front of your kids.

You can say similar to so many chants, including 'over-rated'. Dont you

for example want to beat the team that is supposedly 3 in the country to prove you're up there too…I mean, why say they're closer to your status in the upset vs you're closer to their rating? I mean, it proves you're better than 'people' thought moreso than they are worse.
That's why you have to ignore the words of a chant and just enjoy them in a win.

A couple of times the camera zoomed in and he was clearly using profanity. One time in particular he clearly said “That’s bull ####”, paused, then said it again. It wouldn’t be a big deal if he wasn’t acting as a mentor for these young men, who clearly want to mimic him. I say this because a few minutes later the camera zoomed in on Ian Schieffelin after he made a nice shot. Ian clearly said “Let’s ####### go!” I’m not saying CBB needs to go, but I’d definitely like to see him clean up his language a little since he is representing Clemson. I can’t imagine the backlash if our university president did something like that on TV.

has spread to the football team as well. In August, Coach Riley used the S word about 11 times in a presser, and Coach Swinney said a>ss in a post game interview a few weeks back.
If I were Graham Neff, I would put my Gameboy down and start issuing fines to coaches who use profanity around the fans and players and especially the Media, there is no excuse for that. Clemson is better than this kind of gutter talk.

LOL. It's shocking that coaches and athletes curse. I mean who knew? Watching that rugby game in Littlejohn last night and Ian getting called for a face foul, I'm only surprised BB wasn't more pizzed.
Next thing you know Drill Instructors will be using profanity and belittling their charges in boot camp.
Tbalm, what type of glue do you use to keep your tongue adhered to the inside of your cheek?

I think a lot of the problem is cameras and microphones these days are much better able to zoom in where they don't belong.

There is not much class overall with a lot of people these days. Ref you suck, just sounded childish imo. I say go get trained up and suit up if you think you have what it takes to call a game. Can’t be easy and you are not going to please 1/2 the people.

If only we could return to those quaint times of wringing a chicken’s neck at midfield, making fun of Frank McGuire’s mentally challenged son or touching lighted cigarettes to opposing players legs at Fike.
This horrific practice of chanting “Who’s your Daddy” is evidence of the loss of civility once practiced at Clemson.
Good grief, everyone I saw including some Gamecock fans had a smile.
That was good clean fun, my friend.

I see where you're coming from, but I really don't think it's that bad. It was not profane, and it was actually a pretty light "insult" if it could even be called that. I appreciate good trash talking as a part of sports. "Good" meaning that you should come up with something funny or creative and not overly profane or inappropriate. I know that this can be pretty subjective, but I think it means just keeping things in perspective. I see it as passionately cheering for your team, making noise, and coming up with funny ways to try to "get in the head" of the opposition, as well as some light-hearted banter. But don't actually wish or cause ill towards opposing fans or players, or take it too far or make it personal, that type of thing. I think if coot fans get offended by "who's your daddy" or "little brother" they really need some thicker skin.
