many aspects of the Clemson football program, from my internal doubts about whether Coach Swinney was still in sync with the game, to whether the best days are truly behind us all as Clemson fans.
I feel strongly about coming clean to you all because I want to want to walk into the new football season ready to receive all the good things I know are coming our way as Clemson football fans this year.
We may not win another natty, we may not even win the ACC (unlikely, but, anything's possible), but as far as I'm concerned, entering the season ranked 4th is not only a testament to Coach Swinney's prowess as a program builder and agent of ongoing change, it is a testament to the many players who could've chased NIL dollars at other programs, and yet stayed the course here.
Any real football fan will recognize these things as more than mere orange-colored musings. The truth is, Clemson football isn't back -- it never left to begin with.
Go Tigers.

I understand your sarcasm but come on man. At least the guy has the balls to say I’ve been riding Debo‘s back and should’ve been appreciating what we had just a little bit more. I think we all could stay to do a little bit more of that. So many people Treating their self righteous horns about what they would do none of us have a call you what we would really do we remember being little kids growing up dreaming about making the game winning shot. Let’s keep dreaming, but leave the coaching up to the big boys.

I never waivered. (BS - the Georgia game last year i threw a tantrum). Anyway, I have thought over the last 4 years that several things were amiss. We struck out on DJU. I didn't see THAT coming. And the lack of defensive enthusiasm (tackling). Dabo has rectified both. The portal thing I suck with Dabo. Look at all the s*** shows that happened with that. I'm glad Dabo didn't go down that road. And felt he would be vindicated. And the media is finally catching on too.
Will we win a NC every year, doubt it. That's not the first goal. But we will be good every year. We have a coach that values the education. And by that, reinforces the value of the education as part of their "payment" to the players.
My 2 cent rant...

time. He never jumps the gun on firing or starting underclassmen as position players but chooses the right times to make those changes. Thats what Dabo is really good at. Tommy Bowden woudl just run with the senior QB or the subpar coach he hired until it was past due. Dabo wants to win but he's not blown around when the wind changes. This makes us more attractive to prospective position coaches and prospective recruits.

That’s not going to set well with the crowd on here that knew what changes he needed to make way before he even recognized there was a problem…

in that they felt the ground shift a little after the UGA loss last season. And many went home wondering what the rest of the year might look like.
But they went on to win the ACC, and showed some flashes against a very good Texas football club in the CFP.
And we still called that an "off" year. I can think of about 130 other D1 football programs whose fans'd love to experience what we here at Clemson consider an "off" year.

Amen and amen. Dabo will be a Hall of Fame coach and someone will cue up Sinatra's I did my way. I was blessed to have been around in Danny's day and and am equally blessed to be here in Dabo's day.

As long as Dabo doesn’t start trying to talk and act like a gangsta to get recruits, I’m confident that his authenticity, (obvious) smarts, incredible energy + work ethic, and passion for the game will be a tremendous blessing for Clemson FB for as long as he wants to stay here.
At such time that he perceives meaningful deterioration in his smarts, energy + work ethic, or passion for the game, he’ll hang it up … all on his own (won’t need to be pushed out the door).
He still carries himself like a healthy, smart, energetic guy. So I’m good with it all.

I recently had lunch with a guy who is very close to Swinney

and while I intentionally kept the conversation away from "talking Dabo," he did mention in the context of another topic that he's never met anyone who is as mentally strong -- and positive -- as Dabo Swinney.

That #4 ranking is based on nothing more than media guess-timations based on returning players; many of whom did not perform at an elite level last year.

We have gotten beaten by the coots the last 2 out of 3 years on our home field…I wouldn’t say Dabo is at the top of his game. Just facts🤷♂️

Who do you suggest to replace Dabo? I'll take 2 rings over a 1969 ACC championship any day.
