he starts his first day of high school. Going from a private school to a public school, he is nervous and excited at the same time. I can't believe how much he has grown since last year.

He’ll do great in High School… he’s a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. You’ve raised him well.

Make sure he wears the paw today. We will be welcomed at the new school - at least by those that matter!!! Best of luck to him.

He will do great! He is a great kid!
And starting high school means that the other kids will be a little bit anxious as well - which will help in getting to know new people and making new friends quickly.

Definitely a milestone. As much for you as for him. He’ll be ok. He’s got some sense and that’s what you need to get through changes. He’ll be starting his freshman year at Clemson before you know it. BTW, does Pig® still owe you a dollar?

This will be the day to “write the next chapter” in his book of life. More friendships, more adventures and more opportunities will be forged. Congratulations to him in this next step and chance to embrace it all.
They grow up quick and sharing all the things to come will be memories for a lifetime.

Fine young man ...... but I will wait a few years before introducing him to my 8th grade granddaughter. Maybe his 2nd year at Clemson when she arrives !

Can't beliveve it's been 11 years. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.
My son used to say his bedtime prayer: Now I lay me down to rest and hope I pass tomorrow’s test. If I should die before I wake, that’s one less test I have to take.

Great young man that will excel. I’ve watched him grow and how you’ve raised him. You should be very proud ( I know you are already) and he has been blessed to have a great role model bringing him along. Best of luck moving forward MfO jr!!

As a retired 9th grade school counselor, I can tell you that his emotions are justified. Going from a private to public school, he is probably a bit more nervous than the students from public schools. I know that he will handle himself well because you are such a good role model for him. His high school will probably have an orientation night for freshmen, which will help both of you become more familiar with this change. Wishing him the best for his new adventure!

Joking aside, you seem like a great dad and you clearly love him a lot. Lots of fun experiences ahead for him!

She went to Catholic school K-8. She starts public high school Aug 18th. She is also nervous having known the same kids for most of her life. She is the my youngest and her two siblings also had the nervousness of this experience. I wish my middle had one more year of high school to overlap but graduated this year. We drop her at Clemson on Aug 14th. They grow up fast.
