I love the fire and leadership.... but that was not leadership, it was selfishness. I know he knows he was wrong and CJ and Dabo will handle it. He had his shot to get in the endzone and came up short... the good play call on the one foot line is QB under center and pound it in. Especially with our recent history of fumbles on the goal line.

Here's the thing. I don't want any negative optics or the thought a player shot his mouth off to a coach. What I respect and applaud is his passion for winning.
If he F'd up he will own it as will the coaches handle it. These Beavis's here clutching their pearls are obsolete.

I love his fire and intensity. It's his saving grace as a running back. His intensity is the only thing that separates him. It shouldn't be directed at a coach. That is disrespectful and an embarrassment to the program.

Imagine being up 34-0, your teammate just scored and you're complaining about your own personal stats. Not a kid I want on my team. Big Dex and Wilkins would have put this punk in his place as the jumbo package got called in. That’s the attitude of a kid who realizes he’ll be selling insurance instead of playing in the nfl.

Ha, well you’re partially right, he wouldn’t have played on those teams. But don’t worry, Dabo put the punk in his place tattedcop. Hasn’t touched the ball since his pathetic rant. I remember the championship teams where the leaders sprinted out to celebrate touchdowns. Those guys are now playing in the NFL. Shipley’s antics are pathetic and I would hope you wouldn’t want selfish punks like that on your police squad. Mafah, Adams and Thomas are a better off backfield anyway.

I'm retired and no longer on a police force But, yes, I would love for all of my coworkers to want to be their best. To work with intensity but be smart. A focused and determined cop is a good cop. No, I would not want my fellow cops to be disrespectful, I do agree there, but sometimes in the heat of battle people say things they later regret. Ship was upset in the moment. He is not a punk. He wants to win and he wants to do everything he can to win. I am sure he regrets his actions to an extent and he probably doesn't realize what he said because it was in the heat if rhe moment. However, he is no punk. He is a player that plays with intesity. He wants the rock. He wants to win. I am glad he is on our team and I feel honored to have met him him. He is a 4.0 student and a respectful young man. He plays with fire and I won't fault him for that.

You just nailed the problem with this team. There is no Wilkins or Big Dex to police the players. Haven’t had one since Skalski left
Hate to invoke Desmond Howard but he said it on Game Day in reference to Alabama. Said they have no alpha on their team. Same with us. The greatest teams are the player lead teams. Got to have someone that can handle this within the team. I like Shipley but he’s created his “Crazy Eyes” persona that he sometimes takes to far.

I doubt he will be in the NFL, good college back, but not seeing the NFL in his future. He will be at Clemson next year unless he transfers. Never know these days.
