Zerrick Cooper

My son had an opportunity to go to a few camps with ZC. We just had a talk and he said "college football has no clue what they're in for when he steps on the field, he's special". My nephew said that "he's Lamar Jackson if he knew that he wasn't supposed to share the ball with the other team". These kids just backed up what I was thinking...The Tiger future is bright!!!

I do think he'll be a good one. His arm strength from his highlights is quite impressive. He probably throws harder than anyone on the team currently. Also he is as big or bigger than Deshaun already. Definitely interested to see what he can do.

2017 STARTING QB

Don't be surprised to see:
- he's a starter for one of the sides for the spring game, and outplays the competition
- heads into fall camp running first team
- is your 2017 STARTING QB

Hopefully, unlike Lamar, Zerrick will know when to share the ball with his teammates and not the other team!

Plus, Lamar, at times, seems to be impulsive with decisions. Ever noticed how he starts running and he falls because his legs are moving faster than his momentum, or vice-versa?

I figured they would have given him some playing time

To get him some experience with DW & Nick leaving. Kelly Bryant doesn't seem to throw much.

Zerrick was redshirted, that's why he did not play. I believe he tore something in his knee in HS so they wanted him to heal up.

After watching every highlite I could find on him.......I can say, he is one of, if not the best pure passers I have ever seen. He puts a zing on the ball that reminds me of George Mira.

The situation for Bryant to throw the ball just never came up. He will get his chance in the spring against Cooper and Johnson. That is going to be some serious competition right there.

If so, then either Hunter or Chase will transfer... Jim Grobe, interim coach at Baylor and previous coach at Wake, said in an interview that when multiple really talented QB's commit it usually doesn't end well, i.e., one will transfer.
That's why, imo, we have little chance of picking up Trevor Lawrence. But hey, wdik...

Bryce will be the next Nick/Israel. Bryant would be smart to try a move to WR or even the secondary. And Trevor Lawrence doesn't fear competition. UGA has several highly rated QBs coming in as well, I think they got a committment last week from a 4-star QB.

Good points. But don't you think Brice has quite a bit more potential than Israel?

He may or he may not. My point was, I'm not sure if Brice has the talent of a Johnson, Cooper, or Bryant and will be relegated to clip board and mop up duty, loving the college life and being part of a great football team.

as Lorenzo Nunez - usc's QB savior three QBs ago.
Just because someone is great in a camp doesn't mean he is a great QB with "live bullets".
I hope he is the next Deshaun Watson, but I'll wait and see.
What's nice is we have alternatives next year.
