I don't think that we should be expecting this QB in Orange

Here's some info from a mock MLB draft: PICK 18 team logo Cardinals Pick: SS/RHP Bubba Chandler, North Oconee HS (Georgia) ($3,481,300 slot value)
Chandler has been mentioned a potential top-10 pick at various points this spring and him getting to the Cardinals is hardly a lock. The general consensus seems to be that he has more upside on the mound, though Chandler is a first-round talent as a shortstop too, and my guess is whichever team drafts him will sent him out as a two-way player and see what happens.
I hope that I'm wrong, but would you turn this opportunity down?

Absolutely not, and here is why. FB is a violent attack game, and serious injury can come at any time in an instant, in a game, or practice, and there is no way that I would gamble millions on it not happening. Take the millions and play baseball Youngman!!!!

What these kids need to understand is that that 3 or 4 million dollar signing bonus is about 800,000 by the time they pay everything including agents, personal trainers, travel, a place to live when you get wherever you go among many other expenses. That draft signing bonus isn't life changing money when you realize your expenses and the lack of money made coming up in the minors. We'll see though bc 99.99999% of people only see that big dollar amount and nothing else. I'm sure Dabo and Monte are schooling him on the chances of either him or Taylor actually ever playing a game in the Majors and an education is something you'll always be able to fall back on. Let's keep in mind that both these guys are on full football rides as well and with NIL maybe you can offset that huge signing bonus mindframe.

4 million is like earning $100,000 a year for 40 years.
Your numbers are off. Agent fees are less than 20%, 4 million minus 20%=. 3.2 million Minus estimate of 40% taxes =. 1.88 million
keep in mind that this is a bonus. He will also receive a salary and endorsements.

Not to mention how many pitches he commands. There will always be other teams to believe they can turn him around, if he doesn't make it with his draft team.

You're so full of it lol.
Even if your $800K number is right (it's not, you pulled it out of your ###) you're saying he's going to have $800K of disposable income after all expenses at 18 years old. You don't turn that down to go to college for three years and risk taking 20 years to make that. The dude can go to college online or after his playing career is over if he wants to. You take that money every day of the week no questions asked.

$3-$4 Million is still life changing money even after taxes and agents fees etc. As long as the players understand that its a one time payment and don't already expect every year to continue with $3-$4 million in perpetuity until retirement. That is where most athletes who go broke fail.
They take the first big paycheck and spend it all on luxury items expecting that paycheck to be an absolute that it is always going to continue.

I 100% want him to choose the Tigers over the MLB. I am a selfish fan. Depending on the $$ offered, a kid who also loves Baseball should take the $$.
He can attend college later, he can play CFB later.

Seems like a pitcher would be easier to manage versus a field player. In regards to the exception that was made for Roscoe. Is that still an option?

Bret can confirm Chris Weinke did all right -- Came back to FSU, dated out-of-his-league young ladies by his opinion, won the Heisman, made pro football money. This is an easy decision compared to QB'ing the Clemson scout team.

He can always go back and ply college football later too. Drew Henson played for the Yankees farm system, then when that didn't work he started for the University of Michigan as QB. He then went on to play for the Cowboys. He did it all.

FSU's Chris Wienke did it, but as a Clemson fan I prefer the Roscoe route.

He’s already on campus & moved in. He’s going to be a Tiger forever, he’ll take his chances on being drafted after college so Monte can develop him.
