Myles Murphy

Just got around to listening to P&D from yesterday. Thought it was pretty awesome that the senior OL from ND that won the Jacob’s blocking trophy said Myles Murphy was the toughest guy he went up against all year. The future is bright in tiger town. I know it’s from yesterday’s show, so sorry if german.

I am absolutely p!ssed that he was not a higher selection on the all-ACC teams. But I can't fault the Pitt 1st teamers. They're really good.

he will undoubtedly be considered one of the all time greats here, I do not remember a true freshman coming in and being this mature, well coached and physically ready to compete against elite talent. He will be an absolute monster by the time he is a Junior.

I remember when the great William Perry was a freshman

Wow! What a player! At the top level of college football almost immediately. He dominated Nebraska center Dave Rimington, considered the all-time great college center, and played a big role in Ford, Homer Jordan, Perry Tuttle and a great Defense winning the Orange Bowl and the National Championship in 1981.
We've seen Big Dex come in as a freshman and dominate. And now Murphy and Bresee together are providing a double impact of great freshman D-linemen!
Hard to believe it was almost 40 years ago and Clemson has a chance to repeat the 1981 championship win in Miami! If Murphy and Bresee keep raising their level of play, they can pull a William Perry! Congratulations to Murphy, Bresee and our other freshmen contributors on a very good season! Two more games to go to make it legendary!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of our DEs as a true freshman penetrate

the LOS AND just flat out run down a RB from behind while the RB is running to the opposite side of the field the way he does. That’s saying a lot when we consider who has come through the program the last few years. Out of all those guys he seriously has the potential to be the best we’ve had. The guy has elite speed with great instincts. Enjoy him while you can. He only has two more years barring injury.

It has got to be horrible to be an O-line coach in the ACC knowing next year Clemson will have Davis, Breese and Murphy all back with the rest of the nasty bunch rotating in.
