Whose "A Game" is better?

Sep 28, 2016, 11:58 AM

We Clemson fans are confident we haven't seen our A Game for four quarters. And we hope we saw Louisville's against FSU, but who knows?

So...if both teams bring their A Game, who wins? My money would be on the Tigers. Just too many playmakers on both sides of the ball.

Respectfully DISAGREE!

Talking 'A' game? Our Tigers are ALL over Louisville on that side of the ball, as well!

imho

GO TIGERS!!!

Our A game isn't as good as Louisville's on offense ?

Ya, we'll see who has more NFL draft picks. Our a game is 70 points

I don't remember us averaging over 700 yards last year

Sep 28, 2016, 12:10 PM

As good as Clemson's offense can be, it's never been as prolific as UofL's has been over the first 4 games of the season.

There are 128 FBS team sthis year.
Louisville has played against defenses with the following efficiency ratings:

#123 Charlotte 49ers
#115 Marshall Thundering Herd
#90 Syracuse Orange
#35 Florida State Seminoles

Hardly murderers row...

Clemson has played against defenses with the following efficiency ratings:

#999 SC State not an FBS team
#94 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
#33 Aurburn togers
#23 Troy Trojans

We played over 92 players against SC State and we have 10 Offensive Linemen with over 40 snaps on the year.

The Tigers had over 300 yards of offense in the 1st half

Sep 28, 2016, 1:17 PM

against GT. The game wasn't in doubt after that point and GT had the ball for most of the 3rd quarter, but the Tigers slowed the game down a lot in the second half of that game. The play calling became very vanilla and predicatable and it was very obvious the Tigers were just trying to kill the clock. Davi never tries to bury teams. Once the game in in control the Tiger O goes into cruise control.

Yeah but our goal wasn't amassing 700 yards

Sep 28, 2016, 12:36 PM [ in reply to I don't remember us averaging over 700 yards last year ]

Lamar Jackson has played the entire game for every game but UNCC. We would never do that with DW.

Lamar sat the 4th quarters (at the very least) for Syracuse, Charlotte, and FSU. He played one drive against Marshall in the 4th after our 2nd team had a fumble that led to a TD.

So, no. LJ hasn't played the entire game against everyone other than Charlotte.

My mistake, Red. I didn't see any other QB stats

Sep 28, 2016, 1:11 PM

For those games and assumed he was the only QB.

Geeez...would it kill you guys to let the backup throw a pass? ;)

Hey, no big deal! Just didn't want you guys to think we were leaving in the starters for the entire game every week lol.

But I agree with your sentiment - it's been a little frustrating to have Kyle Bolin (2nd string QB) literally only hand the ball off to the RB when he goes into the game. I'd like to see him getting some reps in an actual game in case (god forbid) Lamar misses any time this year.

Disagree with you, too, camcgee...

...reread the OP's question.

As a team.. Our A game is better..
Unfortunately we haven't seen our offense's A game since last year..
Let's hope it returns..
Our C game offense plus an A game effort from our defense and we lose this game..
