Are the same guys claiming we don’t need the portal. If you are going to go with high school guys who aren’t ready, these are the results you are going to get until they become ready.
You can’t have it both ways…

I’m complaining about them and have never said we don’t need the portal. They are BAD but it is what it is. They need to play. How else will they get better…

Agree, but is it worth getting the experienced guys hurt when you are up 3+ TDs? I don’t think they are good enough to get playing time earlier in the game which is what is really concerning. Injuries will be a problem if we get too many.

You still can get the starters out but you don’t have them ALL getting replaced with developmental guys.

I don't care how we win as long as we keep winning. That's all we have to do to get in the CFP.
Dabo is known for having the team playing their best football at the end of the year. Hopefully, all of these substituions will help with that. So will having our starters healthy and rested. And I think it helps team morale to let the 2nd stringers get some playing time.

Some of these "backups" are 4th stringers and walk ons getting rewarded for their contributions to the team. They don't get to travel to the away games, which is why you see these garbage time points given up mostly during home games.

You have to play your starters longer and risk injuries. I don’t like either of those things but I hate giving up trash points and hearing about everyone complaining.

Nope, just thing we can selectively bring in some experienced depth. If our starters go down, what we have now become the replacements.

Ok, it just seems it is hard for any team to bring in something other than a lock starter or near lock...granted, I don't think we try hard for either!

The problem is our backups in the past gave up points here or there but our current backups give up TD’s pretty much EVERY drive.

Dramatic dropoff in talent with the reserves, too many missed evaluations and transfers to sustain any real depth. Not using the portal just exasturbate the issue. This very well may be the norm going forward. The regression is real.
