I can't help but appreciate the home runs Dabo has hit

in his coordinator hiring!! For all of you that downgrade him and talk poorly of him you need to step back and look at it!!
Hired Morris and look at the immediate talent increase and productivity on that side of the ball.
Now we have Venables and look at the defensive recruits we have landed, and from the spring game I see a much more aggressive/attacking defense in the near future.
Dabo has lost a few games he shouldn't as head coach and has that streak with the coots, but if you look at where we are now versus where we were under TB and you don't see that we have improved tremendously....then you are looking at the wrong program.

Agreed. I am very happy with the direction of our Football program. Dabo has grown tremendously as a HC over the past few years. I think he was a little overwhelmed his first year or two. I think he was trying to do too much.

Is it fair to give Venables the credit for the defensive....

commitments? I'm just asking because I don't know. I do know that he's a good recruiter but so is DS and Jeff Scott and the other assistants.

almost everyone of them has had something to say about him, you know each of them meets and discusses the D with him on their visits.

lets see a few downs of BV. I like him but we could recruit before he got here. Can he put together a solid D? Time will tell. Lets seei before we give him too much credit

If spring ball is any indication of how we are improving on defense, then fall ball out to be lights out compared to the past three years.

Yeah, I never understood people who think Dabo isn't a step up from Bowden.
I don't remember EVER talking about national championships or 11 win seasons with Bowden (cept the 2008 failure).
There is no question Dabo is better and wants it more than Tommy.
Thing is, Dabo is still young and learning. I wouldn't say he a top tier coach in college football, but seeing how hard he works, he certainly could be one of the all time greats in time.

If Venables turns out well (which I think he will), then I guess he's back to even huh?

It's safe to say that the Napier hire was somewhat mandated

due to budgetary constraints laid down by the AD following the coaching change. I'd definitely say his immediate firing of Spence was a +1 though, so if Venables and Morris work out well, that should put him in the positive, right? Does he get credit for firing his friend and buddy Napier after just two seasons instead of hanging on for longer trying to prove it would work? I'm going to go out on a limb here too and say that getting Brad Scott to move over into administration and out of O-line coaching was also a +1, though we've yet to see how well Caldwell actually pans out.

Lame excuses for what? Firing Spence and promoting

Napier to OC? You don't think there were serious financial limitations handed down on Dabo after the TB fiasco in putting his staff together? Open your mind, dude. Then seeing it wasn't working out and removing him quickly and getting the AD to free up the dollars to attract the level of talent we needed there? Where are the excuses?
Blowhards such as yourself will get all over Dabo for the Napier hire, yet also say that it was Dabo actually running the offense (which would mean the hire was meaningless to begin with), then get on his case again for firing him in order to cover his job, which is what good bosses actually do - they keep their companies going strong, and their own jobs intact, by getting rid of bad hires sooner versus later and moving forward.
How did you feel about the Steele hire at the time? Looked great on paper, and through 2010 it was the defense that was keeping us in ballgames. But that changed and as his coaching cycled through it was obvious it wasn't going to work here.
Whatever man. Your constant whining and pouting actually creates bigger fans for Dabo than he probably deserves just because we get sick of your monotonous #### all the #### time.
