That Tobacco Road (Duke and UNC) is protected by this league in basketball.
The two ACC basketball teams that have been the hardest to beat at their arena throughout college basketball history are the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Now I understand these are Blue Bloods, but…. Clemson has not won at Duke since 1994, and had not beaten UNC in Chapel Hill EVER until 2016.
And this last game gave me all the confidence that those 2 are provided a safety net that is the officiating.
Duke did not play better than us. They made some crazy shots that I guess you give credit to, but that was our game.
We all know it’s true. If you’ve always watched Clemson basketball, it’s so obvious.

It's blatantly obvious.
My only question is if it is something nefarious, or are the refs so cowardly, they get intimidated by the fans. Fans get just as intense in other arena's so i tend to believe it is something nefarious.

even going back to the famous Dixie Classic Tournament held in Raleigh where not ONE non-Big 4 team ever won..even UK under Rump or Cincinnati or UL or UCLA under Wooden <~I believe.
Adolph Rump swore he would never play in that biased tournament again.

I attended the last tourney and still have photographs of the games. My roommate and I saw all four of the leading scorers that year. One, a kid named Billy “the hill” McGill. Another was a big kid from East Tennessee but I can’t remember his name. We saw him at Wofford.

If Phillips had a set and wanted to be fair to all the ACC, he would require non-ACC Refs to do the games at UNC and Duke for 2 years and see how that works out.
Better yet use SEC Refs for all ACC basketball games and send the ACC Refs to do the SEC games for 2 years

So after 50 years of the obvious, you are on board? Good to know

I'd wager more that the refs are simply paid-off to help them win.

They definitely are, but we still would have won if we hadn't turned the ball over multiple times in the final seconds.

The fact that they never play each other until February

is an obvious indication that they want to delay a loss for one of them as long as possible to justify staying high in the rankings until late in the season.
