How long is the LLWS?

No offense to these kids but good grief. It’s been on all day every day on ESPN for what feels like two straight weeks. And they aren’t even at the semifinals yet.

I was going to watch the southeast team the other day. As it was coming on, they had Dawn Stanley to talk to the team. I couldn’t stand to hear her speak, so I turned it to something else. Haven’t watched any game now. I guess I hate Cootsville very bad.

There's a ton of teams, international and national, and it was double elimination. I love watching it. Awesome plays and the purest competition left in sports.

I dunno. A few things
1. The large majority of the best US players dont even play little league. They play travel ball and go to the these showcase tournaments. It's not even the best players.
2. Since when did the coaches get so nice? Never a negative word. Feels "scripted" to some degree. I am not all for coaches yelling and getting on players but sometimes it's warranted. You get none of this w the LLWS. Just seems scripted on some level.

Those travel ball kids are all entitled rich kids that have zero humility. These LLWS kids play with heart. Just because their dads can't afford the 25000 dollar commitment to travel ball doesn't mean they aren't the best players on the diamond.
Also, I watched the HC of the Irmo team rip his star player for not hustling and sliding into third after he hit a triple.

I love LLWS , pulling for Irmo (20 miles from home town), and sad when it's over. Can't believe the negatives people can pull from this...what other sports you going to watch right now?
Yes, the travel teams have great players, but dxx for coaches in many cases...maybe a nice coach for an 11 year old ain't all bad.

These elite little leaguers are every bit as good as the travel ball kids. Travel ball is killing youth sports and I wish parents would realize it and get back to local play. Ok off my soap box, and thankfully all my kids are almost done with travel ball age stuff. Hopefully none of my future grandkids will be involved in the travel ball World.

Sir...no the LLWS are not every bit as good as travel ball players.
You take the top LLWS teams and a top travel team and it's not close at all. You may have a player on a LLWS team (the Irmo pitcher) who could compete but as a whole it's not close

Most of these kids also play travel ball. Travel ball has

become very diluted. It’s the new “rec” league. Travel ball organizations are a pure money grab that sell a false dream to parents.

My daughter's travel fastpitch 14U based in Atlanta, had 1 girl from Nashville, 1 from Knoxville on team. So you pull from wherever the parents will commit their life and money...no sense of community at all. In part, that is why elite travel teams are better. We encountered some travel that were not very good.
