in Softball and Lacrosse and can be ranked in the top 25 in year one but don't have similar expectations in another program in year 13? It just doesn't make sense.

For the same reasons Duke is top tier in basketball and typically sux in football. Every school has programs where they excel and programs which don’t.

That’s why heaping all the blame on Brad Brownell is patently unfair. He didn’t create the situation, he just agreed to try to fix it.
Is it time for a change? Probably.
Will a change alter the trajectory of 112 years of history? Odds are poor.
Honestly, starting a new program from scratch is probably much less of a challenge than trying to ignite the moribund basketball program at Clemson.
