has a career best day against us with lonnng punts and great hang time! The Cuse punter looked like Ray Guy out there and this was after having the GSU and GT punters kicking 60 yarders and changing field position! Dang it man!

The bigger question is why can’t we find a punter like that? They seem to be everywhere but on OUR team.

At some point late in the game Spiers had a punt that went about 35 yards on a line with no hang time right after one of the Cuse punts that went 50+ yards and a mile in the air.
The contrast was staggering.

We lost about 20 yds, with neither team getting a first down, on the last punt exchange before the 94 yd touchdown drive!

I believe he was leading the conference in punting and he certainly did not hurt his stats Saturday; however I am pretty sure the final score was Clemson 27, Orange Bags 23.

have 1 or 2 guys that amble back there just in case it's a fake.
and we do a #### poor job of blocking the gunners.
we don't go after blocks = they have all day to kick it and make perfect punts.

I've noticed this, and I've always chalked it up to just being a fan or "homer" and thinking most fan bases feel that way. But I am curious to know what the stats are vs. us in comparison to their other conference games. It is possible that the punter knows our defense is so good that he will most likely have to step up in order for their team to have a chance at winning. Has to flip field position when their offense cannot, and has to punt often - so maybe they're very mentally prepared by the time the game rolls around?

after it continues to happen game after game a reasonable thought process might be, are our opponents punters really that great or are they the norm and our punting game is the aberration??
