I just don’t see how you can point to anything positive on the defensive side.

Its not a matter of defending Wes. It's facing the reality that the problem is much more complex that it just being Wes.

No it’s not that complex. He calls the schemes and coaches the LB’s which are consistently out of position & taking bad angles. He needs to go. BV did much more with less! A good DC would change the face of this football team

Again. It's not defending Wes. There is just a lack of elite talent.

I don't know that I agree with that. Our defense is filled with four and five star players. We only have two positions where I genuinely think we have a lack of talent (strong safety and Jaheim Lawson). This year, we had a more talented defense than virtually all other teams. How many teams in the country have players as highly recruited as TJ Parker, Peter Woods, Payton Page, Barrett Carter, Sammy Brown, and Jeadyn Lukus? Yet we had the #93 rushing defense (though it will likely be outside the top 100 after the season). That isn't because of talent.

Yes it is complex. The linebackers aren't out of position because if his scheme. The problem is that the defensive line get bushed around and can't maintain the line of scrimmage, and they also don't eat up blocks so that lineman are free to block the linebackers.
Brent Venables Did not do more with less. He had one of the best collection of defensive lineman in the history of college football.

Go back and listen to any BV interview when he was here. All he talked about was leverage, eyes on the ball, fitting gaps. That ship has sailed with Pork Chop

3rd and 9?? If not Wes then who??
Sorry - but it's time to move beyond the Wes Goodwin analyst to DC/LB coach experiment..

Bc some of us take into account the entire body of work. Riley sucked all last season and this season. Wes just sucked this season

Riley had one of the highest scoring offenses in the country and our best offense since Trevor left. Your boyfriend Wes sucks at coaching because he’s never done it before and he’s turned the defense into a soft ball of mush much like himself. Facts disagree with you buddy boy and the facts say the defense has regressed every year under fat boy.🤡🤡

Wes has sucked the whole time he has been here. He’s getting worse each year.

Let's be real for a second. We KNOW who's calling every play on defense. On offense, we have no clue on who's calling the plays because Dabo has input also. If there was more transparency in who's calling what on offense, then we would know of Riley sucked last year and this year. Goodwin hasn't shown he can do anything with what we have. He chose to keep Brown who was the only impact player vs South Carolina, out the entire 2nd half. Texas just ran the ball 200+ yards against us, that's atrocious.

Sammy not being on the field in the 2nd half against Scar is eerily similar to Streeter abandoning the run game in the second half against Scar. Maybe there's a similar outcome...

His only defense is that someone wouldn’t let him use all available tools to acquire talent. But this excuse may not hold much weight when that someone is the one considering firing you.
