Brad was apparently still “stunned” by being left out of the NCAA, the players had zero motivation to play in the NIT, and Clemson basketball slides back into irrelevancy for the indefinite future. I love watching college basketball; but I’ve been burned way too many times to get my hopes up for my Tigers! When will the BOT seriously commit to MBB like they do with football? Look at what ‘Bama has done! Why can they have it all?

I'm not going cold blooded with team bc there is talent on that team that could play with most of the top Basketball teams in the NCAA tournament, but regardless of who's the blame, the HC should take full responsibility, but that's something that Brad don't do, he has never accepted responsibility for how the team played, but he will tell us how players screwed up.
I do know that a lot of Clemson fans love Brad, but Brad has to be more than just a Clemson man, He has to be a HC that can win a championship at once a every 5-6-7 years, and he hasn't been that close in all of 13 seasons at Clemson. Brad Brownell Equals Tommy Bowden. And while the stadium is still in decent shape, and while there is some talent there, we need a Basketball Dabo taking over the basketball program as HC while most things within the program being in OK shape. Take a risk and thank Brad for all he's done, and part ways, don't waist another season, IMO....

This basketball program is a mess and there's none, I mean absolutely zero, sugarcoating it.
Neff screwed the pooch. He thought giving Brad a vote of confidence would boost him in the NIT. Well, Graham, you don't play Mr. Nice Guy in business decisions. It was COMMON SENSE to hold any statements until AFTER all the results were in. It was a terrible decision, and it doesn't take hindsight to say that.
We got left out of the tournament for valid reasons, and Neff got emotional instead of waiting until the season was over. This ticks me off almost as losing this game.
No sir. You can't rag on the football program at every sign of adversity, but then basically say this is no big deal.

Typical Brad. The offense, which Brad can't coach, fails miserably at crunch time. So so so so predictable. The Brad apologists will be out in force today. And Neff won't care, because it's only basketball. I can't stomach watching Brad's teams; I just get ticked off watching us screw up. If I want to watch hoops, I put on the NBA, a league where ZERO Clemson alums play.

At some point -- perhaps at half tme -- the the BIG BROWN L (loser) COULD REALLY insisted they stop shooting 3s. (But then there was 1 for 11 in the second half)...
OR, he could just sit there....Watching brick after brick.....
AGAIN, a real coach would have some plays to get inside shots...

I’m absolutely ashamed of that team and their coach. I’d do the same thing if we lost a football game to Gardner-Webb. Zero coaching adjustments. Just keep flinging ‘em boys. They have to go in eventually.

Why he would even say anything at that time. The only two conclusions I could come up with was he was going to A) fire CBB…or B)….more than likely to announce he was going to keep CBB.
I think Neff should’ve waited…but I really think he knew what this team was capable or doing….and he wanted to get in front of the storm. Coming out and saying that after this game tonight would’ve been much much more problematic.
Its obvious by not giving CBB an extension all Neff is doing is buying another year.

We got outcoached bad and lost to inferior players once again. CBB has no idea how to coach against man. He can't figure out how to utilize our size against small ball. Then it makes us slow on D so it's a worthless strategy but continues to use it. Isolation & screens are non existent. If Neff doesn't fire this clown he's an idiot. The trend of losing to teams we should beat continues. "Cold shooting" is a joke.....we always go "cold" against man. GO TIGERS!!! #FBB

Brownell is to Clemson BB what Paul Johnson was to GT FB. His style of play will usually be competitive and win more than losing. But it will never be the big games.

I wish I was stunned. But no, this is the norm. Every year under Brownell I still inch closer and closer to just wanting to get rid of our basketball program entirely and put it to something else. Heck, I'm almost apathetic about it now...almost.

Perfect example of why the Committee didn't give Clemson an invite to the dance!! No consistentsy in their game, they get beat in the games they should win !! The Team has talent, the Coach does not !!
Time for Brownell to go back to High School coaching !! His crying by not being selected came back to bite him. If they were that good they would sweep on though their bracket without question!! LOL to Brownell.

Remember on Sunday when everyone got upset we werent in the NCAA Tournament, yeah those were good times. Now, think about this loss in the first round of the NIT and ask yourself that again. Its sad the Neff already came out and said BB will be back next year before this game was played.

Maybe Neff gave him a vote of confidence to try and motivate Brad. The best way to motivate is to get rid of the unmotivated. Brad has no need for motivation, he’ll be around despite his lack of performance and inability to coach. I feel sorry for our players that deserve better.

Like...just win something , anything. I don't expect to be a Natty team with CBB, but after all this time, shouldn't we have at least have been in an ACC Championship Game or NIT Final?
And let's say CBB does do that next season...does 14 years really justify the time to get there? It's pathetic but whatever. At this point, he's just a fly in the ointment that appears we are stuck with, so we might as well accept it.

Yes it was only the NIT and the players were upset at not getting into the NCAA's - BUT it is the head coaches job to motivate his team and Brad cannot do this time and time again - nor make in-game adjustments that will work!

One of the major responsibilities of a HC is to get the players motivated to play a game that they don't want to play. They should have been inspired to stick it in the NCAA's face by taking it all in the NIT. Let's face it. We would have most likely been a low seed and be one and done but were a favorite in the NIT. This game shows we did not deserve to be in the NCAA.

We lived and died by the 3 this year. When they were going in, we could beat anyone; when they weren't, we could lose to anyone. For example, we were 3-21 vs. Loyola, 4-24 vs. Louisville, and 6-28 vs. Morehead St.) We will need to recruit more consistent shooters going forward if we hope to get over the hump.
