“This isn’t a what have you done yesterday, or a what have you done for me lately job. It’s a what are you doing for me right now job.”
Could not agree more! I can’t think of a single industry where that is a more true statement than today’s college football

Not sure what you mean Balm. It is “Jesus.” I fixed for you. I believe Dabo might think eternity is slightly more important than college football, but he is not intentionally wanting this team to fail. This is the portal era and when he starts using it things will change fairly quick. These rosters are fluid and things can change drastically from one year to the next.
Always thought Dabo thrived when things were not going well. Does not seem to like losing and either he will portal more aggressively or he may decide to walk away. Would not surprise me if he walked away. The current reality of what college football has become in my opinion is not a part of his DNA.

Not really. Those championships mean NOTHING in 2025 while he has a 3-4 team that’s lost to the likes of SMU and Syracuse. Get off of your knees you cuck.

Delusional. Those banner don’t win games. Currently, neither does Dabo. That’s the point.

And you think that is fair? He won the ACC last year. But he is not going to win it this year. And you are ready to dismiss him. I don’t want to live in your world. What kind of lesson does this teach our children. I believe in the culture Dabo has created at Clemson. I feel sure our football players this year are learning valuable lessons.

I honestly don't care about semi-professional athletes chosen majors, their GPA's and even if they graduate. They are mercenaries now. Don't like it but it is the reality of college football in 2025. Clemson University need to leverage these mercenaries to optimize the value of the Clemson brand on the national stage. Everything else is merely mildly interesting but irrelevant. Now, if they REFUSE any and all NIL monies then I might care if they graduate. I'm not holding my breath.

“So now mediocrity is a ‘valuable lesson’? Got it. This isn’t Little League where everyone gets juice boxes and a hug for trying hard. This is big-boy football, with million-dollar facilities, paid athletes, and a fanbase that expects results. Dabo’s culture used to produce trophies, but now it’s producing excuses. ‘Valuable lessons’ don’t fill trophy cases.”

Well, here’s my take. This season is a bust. The only thing we have in front of us is a state championship, which looks bit doubtful. Dabo has seen the results of being stubborn and micromanaging his coaching staff. If I were GR and TA I would demand that Dabo allow me to hire my own assistants. If not, I’d be looking for another job. If major changes don’t occur during the offseason, then the sign should be clear that Dabo has lost his way as a head coach in today’s environment. On the other hand, if I was Dabo, I would resign and spend the rest of my adult life counting my money.

I just have lost all faith that Dabo will do what is necessary to get us competitive again. He might inch a little bit but I don’t think he has it in him to use NIL and the portal like it’s being used by other schools that are successful.

David Pollack comments after GaT loss still resonate
3

"I feel like Dabo's demeanor, I feel like what he used to be and what he's starting to become, it almost seems like he's frustrated. It seems like he's kinda beatdown a little bit. Listen, that's what happens when you don't play good," Pollack said. "The longer you're at a place, it's hard to keep the juice and the energy. He's kinda been there, done that. And I'm not saying Dabo is washed up. That's not what I'm saying, and I'm not saying he's done, but I do feel like his demeanor and maybe his intensity a little bit -- I think maybe the kids need to see that a little bit."
He says the biggest change in the program in recent years was the loss of Brent Venables' intensity.
"Venables, that intensity, that put the thumb down. That get-back coach. That get in yo' mutha-freakin'-booty when you need it," Pollack said. "Because guess what, you need it. You need to be yelled at. You need to be held to a standard. We say 'all in' here, that's the standard. That's how we do this...You can lead with love, ain't no doubt about it, but the accountability. We're going to hold your feet to the fire. And listen, Tom Allen is great for that too. Tom Allen has such a great personality and he's going to bring it every single day, but I think you want as a Clemson fan, you want to see more of that probably."
Pollack took issue with how Swinney described the 24-21 defeat at Georgia Tech.
"He's talking about we played a good game against Georgia Tech. Did you? I didn't think they played a good game," Pollack said. "Like, I didn't think they played solid. I thought they made a lot of mistakes offensively. I think that the criticisms and the things people say -- just take it. Just wear it. And say, 'We didn't play good. Georgia Tech played better. I've got to fix 'X.' I got to fix 'Y.' Like, we need Antonio Williams back.' And even after the game, 'the defense let us down late.' Yeah, but the offense kinda sucked. So, this is what happens. You win, he's got a different perspective than a lot of people in this game. And so you're going to get criticized and this kinda stuff is going to happen. I would love to see him just take it head on, 'We didn't do good enough. We need to do this. I didn't do good enough. I need to do this.' And listen, he's doing this in the locker room. Ok, he's giving it to his guys. Like, I can promise he does that. He's not accepting losing.
"I think he could make it easier on himself..."
