Yep, one of several thousand fallacies in that movie.

Naval aviators are required to be between 5'10" and 6'2" (I think that's the range), and that stringbean blew that by a good 3".

My beard is Bob Ross level in thickness and density. You’re like Amish-level-12. That’s impressive.

one of you would have the texture of the "hook" side of velcro and the other beard would have the texture of the "loop" side of velcro.

I was trying to give a reference he'd understand.

Not sure he's hip enough to get it if I'd said I had the density of Grady on Sanford and Son.

The only reason this won't get POTD is because so many people's sense of humor is simple, yet simple.

The only way this could have been a more perfect cute-meet was if Cruise was in his tighty whiteys with Tom Skerritt looking on approvingly

never seen it. No real reason why, just haven't. I've seen bits of it and know the songs on the movie soundtrack. It's been on TV many times for me to, for sure. Just never at the right moment.
Not that I don't like military jets, I own a $500 Citizen Blue Angel watch. LOVE the Blue Angels. Saw them perform live many times in my youth at the annual Beaufort Air Show.
Maybe I will watch it some day.

why they were the Coke to the Thunderbirds Pepsi. Seems logical that the Air Force would have the better known ones.

I suppose it's just a PR thing from the 60's and 70's?

the blue is more flashy and memorable, perhaps? I really not sure.
I do know locally, growing up in Beaufort area, the BAs were always around there, that's who we all knew.

craved it for years before I got the nerve to actually purchase. Just the best way I knew to illustrate my Blue Angels fanboy status.
