Historic Photo #53 Larry Nance

May 25, 2020, 8:49 AM

It look beyond the high flying McDuffie High School product Larry Nance, you will see the stands full of Clemson faithful. They were watching one of the best forwards to come out of Clemson basketball.
I attended Crescent High school and watched him beat our team that had four future college signees starting. He was slim, but could jump out of the gym, with a nice little 12-15 ft jump shot.
He doesn't get the credit he deserves at Clemson for the wins those teams had during that era of basketball.
Clemson basketball can recruit and can win at a high level, and this era proves it can be done.

Nance was so skinny upon entering Clemson. They sent him to the dentist and found a lot of problems that were corrected and lead to him gaining some weight

Nance was probably my all time favorite Tiger hoopster but certainly wasn't a top recruit . If memory serves me correct , only Anderson college and us .
