He’s a great kid never been in real trouble....

Arrested for aggravated robbery, illegal possession of a gun, and selling drugs. That’s all....no real trouble....
I just don’t get it. These young adults that keep losing their lives in altercations with police can all be prevented by just being a civilized citizen. Stop breaking the law. Stop running from police. Stop fighting police.

I think the issue at hand here is not that the kid was a criminal, but that a dumb cop could not figure out which weapon she has trained on the person, spent several seconds yelling taser, then shot the kid with her 9mm, causing his car to allegedly careen into a group of bystanders.
But Ok, the REAL narrative is there was this criminal that did a bad thing and ran a bunch of people over.

The man had a warrant. Rather than complie with police he choose to fight and run. THAT is the only story here. Yep there was a dumb cop. There are lots of dumb cops. They are severely overworked and underpaid for the job they are supposed to do. Just like politicians...it’s hard to get good smart people to be cops. If you do the crime do the time. If you didn’t do the crime do your time and then get rich in a civil rights settlement afterwards. There’s just no excuse for fighting and running from the police. NONE

I am saying the cop is a ret>ard and deserves to get fired, regardless of which lens you choose to see this through.

no, the penalty for being a thug is not getting shot by a redneck that lied about finishing HS on her Cop Application.

back to the namecalling, that did not take long. I have no issue with cops per say. I have an issue with 1.cops that casually shoot people who are of no threat. 2. Dumb cops that shoot people, cause dumb.
I also don't like Chat board Hollaback girls.

Balm, I think what these guys are saying instead of demonizing cops for being put in a situation to prevent criminals from harming others or the cops themselves, why are we not demonizing criminals for something they are not supposed to be doing or have done in the first place? It’s simple! Stop breaking laws, stop being criminals, stop being trouble makers, thieves and murders and you won’t get shot.
Why keep taking up for people who should not be breaking laws in the beginning? It’s like giving them a free pass to do what they want to do when they want to do it with no consequences for the crimes they commit.

I’m not saying the man should have or deserved to die. God gives us life. No man on earth has the right to take it from anyone. I’m just saying most of all these instances could have been prevented by the one who died by simply complying with the cops.

That I agree on. What I’m saying is there are a lot of cops like that due to the low talent pool of people wanting to be cops. Why take your chances fighting a cop when said cop is likely to be untrained uneducated and is told to shoot you if you don’t behave. It’s just silly. IMO. I think we as a society are giving cops too much credit. We prop them up as heroes and paint them in some sort of great protector and moral authority. But almost every cop I’ve personally known is either an egotistical ######. Or some physically abusive husband. Or just a drunken jerk off. THAT is the norm. Those are cops. They are hired to do a job. That job is to arrest criminals and maintain order. If you are out of line or breaking the law chances are you will be dealing with a dumb bass who was givin a gun and told to use it if someone gets out of line. That’s the way it is.

concerning your POV - you consider the police to be dumb bass but the crook is somehow [highly intelligent] and deserves more respect?
Maybe.

No no. Refer to my OP. This guy was a criminal and should have been behind bars but was out on bail. I’m saying when you mix stupid with stupid you get really stupid outcomes almost every time. In this case and many others that outcome is loss of life. Which is just plain stupid.
I mean this kids legacy is going to be (according to his mom) “he died over air fresheners on his mirror”
I mean it don’t get much more stupid that that folks.

stop being pussies and quit shooting people just because they're jumpy, scared and ill-equipped mentally, physically and emotionally to do the job.
See how oversimplified that was?

Nope. Not simple. Good smart brave educated patient people are not lining up all over the country to be cops. Nope. It’s a low paying long hours thankless job that endures massive amounts of public criticism and scrutiny. Extreme pressure and remedial tasks every day. The job doesn’t exactly attract the cream of the crop.

The name calling aside, it doesn't seem extreme to think people should comply.

or we start holding these people accountable, and they may just stop reaching for their weapon every time their sphincter twitches. Seems some of you all forgot the role law enforcement plays in this country.

People today are extremely selfish. They are out there thinking about themselves. When a criminal with a warrant or record of violent crime starts to fight. These cops are thinking one thing. it’s me or him and it danm sure ain’t gonna be me.

I think we agree police officers should be held accountable. I also think that in the overwhelming majority of these cases it begins with non-compliance. Seems like there is a growing attitude in this country which says you don't have to comply with authority. What do you think is the likely outcome of non-compliance? You think the cop is gonna just let it go?

This info can’t be right. CNN had an expert panel today that said he was being detained for having air fresheners hanging from his rear view mirror.
