Right. Look at some of our misses versus gets. Look no further than missing on Foreman who is basically a complete bust at this point and a receiver that opened that opened the door for Brown.

Drew Allar was the only one ranked ahead of him. I don't think we were after him though. This is his first yar starting though and he has been good. He plays for Penn State.

I can't believe Dabo didn't do everything in his power to keep the Grayson, GA Quarterback Chase Brice instead of letting him transfer out. Chase saw the handwriting on the wall that he was going to be playing Second fiddle to DJ. And possibly third string behind Taisun. Unbelievable. That is why we are in the shape we are now nationally. If Chase would have been the stater the last two years I believe we go to the playoffs. Maybe not winning. But nevertheless a top 5 team. Plus Cade would have played a little more snaps in blow out games instead of riding the bench because DJ couldn't give us a big lead with a half or quarter to play.

We would’ve lost at least 4 games each year if he was our QB. He was even more careless with the football than DJ and was one of the INT leaders in the country both years.

Even then… the pass wasn’t THAT great. Chase did a lot of good for App St, but he gets wayyyyy too much credit for beating Cuse. That was Higgins.

The reason why there was nobody else at QB is because the best guy we had, a proven winner with plenty of experience left in the portal. Chase Brice. I'm convinced if Chase stays as the starter and DJ and whoever are the backups we are not in this obvious trouble we have been in the last 2.5 years. Chase was ready to step in as the leader of the offense. He paid his dues but was overlooked for DJ. That was the first domino to fall, causing all the rest to fall.
Chase was liked and respected in the locker room. Unlike DJ. He was Trevor Lawrence's backup for two years. His 2 years at Appalachian state he balled out. With 2022 as a 5th year senior being phenomenal. If he could do that at App State just imagine what he could have done with a much better team and talent in Clemson.
He was done wrong. He saw the handwriting on the wall and left. He would have been a backup QB to DJ, after paying his dues. He won games for us. Now we are paying the piper. One of many mistakes made by Dabo in a 3+ year period. But the most vital mistake. Now we have a rookie QB learning on the job and the Clemson reputation has lost its swagger in the meantime and we don't scare anyone anymore. We look beatable to any team that has an above average, experienced QB and a defense that is above average that can confuse the QB and pressure the QB and can stop the run.
DJ is playing in a league which 90% of the teams don't have a pulse on defense and couldn't hold a candle to Clemson's defense. DJ also got to play some powder puff teams early in the season to build his confidence. Duke had a very good defense, Florida State had a great defense, and Wake was good at stopping the run and daring Cade to beat us with the pass. But Cade had an off day and we were missing Williams badly yesterday. Brown was being double covered most of the day and no other receiver was doing much other than Beaux. But Beaux is not a game breaker.

Very true. The point of my post. Could not even remember who it was and I am generally pretty good at following recruiting. I just remember most of us feeling like we got the right player in Cade.
Of course, we always feel that way as we should.

If you watched the Texas High School Championship games, Cade , was fantastic. Westlake High School is where he led his team to two state championships. Clemson was lucky to recruit him. He will become one of the best in Clemson history and in the NCAA. Great quarterbacks also need a great OL and Cade doesn’t have that yet.
