I really like Kelly as a prospect. He has tremendous upside - probably early pick in the NFL draft type potential IF (and that's a big if) he can fix his mechanics and learn to read defenses. I'd compare his potential to Cam Newton if he grows a lot or Ryan Tannehill if he doesn't add a lot more weight.

I'm glad Kelly looks good as he is possibly our future starter but I wasn't expecting him to already be in front of Schuessler at this point.

Yes. But I know the last couple of days Bryant has been sharp and Schuessler has regressed. Talent will win out in the end.

was on the line, Scheussler would come in if DW went down. BUT, I think it's clear that Bryant is so much more talented and athletic that it's just a matter of how quickly he picks everything up and getting some reps. Sounds like that may be sooner than later.

Bryant may look better and more athletic but surely Nick gives us the best chance to win with his grasp of the offense. If we can totally demolish OK in the bowl game with Cole at QB under the new coordinators then surely Nick would be the best chance to win.
I think the co-coordinators realized that we don't have to run the QB 30 times a game to have a great offense. With all the amazing talent at the skill positions why would we put our QB at risk like that?

I think if we were going through camp with no DW4 or even in game prep week, we'd see a plan to bring KB in for sets to ease him into action similar to Cole and DW4 last year, with KB taking over before long. He has the tools, and is much more athletic than NS. Gaining confidence and game experience in the playbook is all he is lacking right now. I see a young Cam Newton with even more upside than Zerrick Cooper.
