I’m fairly certain you don’t have to keep control of the ball going to the ground when it comes to crossing the goal line. Once you cross the goal line with possession of the ball, it’s a TD. That was a gift.

Correct. Although I hate that rule. A rb can simply break the plane and no matter what it’s a td. But receiver has to maintain control all the way through

Caught the ball foot down and entered end zone.
Touchdown. Cant fumble or lose the ball after crossing goal line

On pass play you have to maintain control all the way through tackle. And ground. Doesn’t end at crossing the plane.

to understand. The ball hit and rolled, you have to maintain possession to complete the process of the catch.

Not the rule. Read the rule for a catch, not a run.
