Having a dual threat is most important

Then their defense doesn't really know as easily what's coming. Plus if he can get some separation from the defender.
Hope he'll be there to help are freshman tackle.
It may just be me, but there's an increased presence of freshman getting significant playing time. Amazing that just a few years ago you rarely expected freshman to contribute as much. This has to be attributed to the improvement in hs programs. Especially in strength and nutrition.

and getting better players as a result. looking at our guys offers versus those in the Bowden era shows today much stronger schools generally are trying to get guys we are now landing to play for Dabo. I think our staff is very good on X & O stuff and player development but I'd rate recruiting as their best skill. You never get everyone you want but these guys get an amazing % of thema

He's going the distance?
Aug 28, 2015, 11:29 AM

As they speed through the finish, the flags go down. The fans get up and they get out of town. The arena is empty except for one man, Still driving and striving as fast as he can. The sun has gone down and the moon has come up, And long ago somebody left with the cup. But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns. And thinking of someone for whom he still burns.

I was there too. Thought we had dominated the game & Danny Ford was going to do to FSU what he had done to GA - get the ball on the last drive, run the time down to 4 seconds & kick a FG. We were set up perfectly for it. Then........Puntrooskie. Devastating. There was no mercy for them the next year though. I don't see any reason to play Mr. Williams unless he'll play a lot and/or some of the TEs decide to transfer/quit. We have way too many TEs.

If he blocks...
Aug 28, 2015, 12:40 PM
[ in reply to Re: Puntrooskie ] |

He's ahead of anyone coming out of camp last year. We've seen little indication of any of our TEs becoming blockers. If he's nothing more than equal to them this time last year he's two years ahead of anyone of them when they were incoming freshmen. If he blocks as well as any on them today can see a reason,or two, to put him on the field.
Some of our other TEs may see what a real TE looks like. DW4 will have somebody behind him when he's in the pocket he can depend on to know who he's supposed to block. RB's can take a step or two up the middle instead of toward the side line.

With so much talent at the TE position...
Aug 28, 2015, 3:00 PM

Why not use a more double TE set(s) on offense. It would bolster the running game to have the extra blocking and would be a guessing game for defenses that we play in the passing game...
