You have to realize that when he says these things he's speaking as much to the players, and probably even more so, than to the media and fan base, in order to motivate them, keep them engaged, hopeful, etc.
It's absolutely no different than corporate PR release. As an investor, you read it but have to realize that even if there's nothing technically untrue in the release there probably is a lot of stuff that is overly embellished.
Dabo is running a business that happens to be a football team, just like Saban is and all coaches nowadays.

I’d have to say that statement could be true…even if the O-Line were not that good, which they weren’t. The D-Line, on the other hand, in years past has been dominant so if the current D-Line compares favorably to years past, look out.

We're returning the same guys that couldn't get pressure on Ohio State. I'm expecting significant improvement with a healthy Tyler Davis, Murphy and Bresee in their second years and a new and improved XT, but idk if I agree with David when he said they'll be "the best in the country" in the scrimmage article. This isn't the 2018 line returning; they need to earn an accolade like that. They certainly have the talent to; that's why last year's performance in the playoffs was so disappointing.
Ignore the chicken comments. More orange Kool-aid is consumed in August than in any other month. Let them believe Elliot when he says "I've got five QBs I feel really good about". Lol no coach, you do not. We all know he'll lose sleep if Billy Wiles has to start a game, and most of the coot-callers don't even know who that is. They're also hypocrites; I guarantee they criticized the O-line last year too. We all did.

Well, his saying it was as good as we've had is not saying all that much, especially since the days of DF. I wish our OL were threat, feared by our opponents, but so far, not so much. I'm hoping they are those guys this year. If they are, we will be a force to be reckoned with.

during and after spring practice before their freshmen seasons?
The hype here was so over the top that when I suggested Alabama's top 4 receivers at the time (all of whom were drafted in the 1st round) were better than ours, it got pretty ugly here.
When it comes to praise of freshmen who haven't done anything, I don't really listen to Dabo. However, when he's critical of a player, you can take that to the bank.
When CBV gives either praise or criticism, you can 100% believe it.
Nothing wrong with Dabo leaning positive. But just be aware that he does.
