Thinking it’s time to ax YouTube which that’s what want you to do, but don’t want to pay for tv don’t really care about. Thinking Hulu live it is. What’s everybody think? And can you share Hulu live with other families?

I would rather throw Sling TV a bone and help Youtube TV as they stand up to Disney.
Don't know how long I can hold out though.

I just did the day pass with sports extra package for $6.99. Not a big fan of Sling's interface so I don't think I'd go with it long term.

you're likely paying for a ton of channels you don't want and can consolidate all that you watch into a couple of paid apps.

Last time I checked the ESPN app does not show games that are on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU or ABC. Plus, the ESPN app is what Disney wants you to do. Nope.
Edit: apparently there's a new ESPN app...
"ESPN Unlimited is a new streaming service that costs $30 a month and offers access to 12 main ESPN channels, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network, ESPN on ABC and ESPN3."

Not yet. We really like YouTube TV. We were at the games last week and yesterday so haven’t missed anything yet. Friday night I will be out of town hunting and then the next week will be at the home game again so they have some time to get it figured out. The only game I might miss will be the Loserville game. We have YouTube TV at the hunting camp and I have it on my phone so I would be able to watch if they get to an agreement. I really don’t want to switch to Hulu or get the ESPN+ subscription and reward Disney for holding us hostage.

From what I understand (and I may not), we would be rewarding Disney because they own Hulu and want us to dump YouTube for them. We have had both and I prefer YouTube TV to Hulu.

Last year they were in a dispute with Dish.
I also remember when they had a dispute with direct tv when I was using direct TV at the tailgate.
I think charter had a dispute as well.
When the providers contract ends they hit you harder on the renewal.
If they had a 4 yr deal at $10 a stream and the new going rate in $20 then yeah.. there will be a battle. The provider isn't going to want to pay double and disney isn't going to give it for half.

Rhett .... you really don't have to miss any of them. Easy sign up for 5-day Fubo free trial and cancel the forth or fifth day. The following game have your wife or child sign up on their email account. That is what I did with my daughter.

I gave them a while to resolve things with Disney, they didn’t, so I’m out.
Switched to Hulu Live TV with the Disney+/ESPN+ package and it is working well so far.

I made the switch back to Fubo. I’ll be staying there a while. Better than Hulu+ for me. Better than YouTube TV for sure.

Long time yttv er here. I switched to the hulu package. Still learning the interface. Have it on roku so using the roku remote. Found out by accident how to customize the channel guide and flip to other games easily. Haven’t found a way to pause a game, go to another, and come back at the same point. I could do that on yttv which allowed me to watch several full games more or less at once.

Sticking with YTTV. Lot of things I like about it. Screw Disney. Their plan to get folks to sign on with Hulu (owned by Disney as well) seems to be working out very well. We own the channel and want to make it unaffordable on our competitors platform. Shady

Sure, it’s frustrating for the rest of us, but I don’t blame Disney/Hulu/ESPN one bit.

Disney hasn't done anything to any of their other customers.
It is possible that Disney is making a move to get rid of youtube tv.
It's also possible that yutubes contract just ran out and Disney simply wants more money for their product now.

Well, that's exactly what Disney wants you do to, since they own Hulu and Fubo. They shutdown their networks on DirecTV awhile back, did the same to Dish, now doing it to YouTubeTV. Guarantee they will jack up their rates on Sling to the point where Sling will end up like YouTubeTV.
Looking into pirate streams at this point.

Did it today … it’s actually cheaper for me even after the 3 month discounted price is over.
Between Disney+, Hulu & ESPN Unlimited… loved my YouTube TV and actually think the interface was more user friendly … but you win a few and you lose a few.

I got an email from YTTV today that they are still negotiating with Disney and confirming I'll get a follow-up email in the next few days with instructions how to redeem a $20 credit that will be applied to my monthly bill.

YouTube and find the stream of the game you want. Worked great the last two weekends. Sometimes frustrating when the stream gets shutdown but there’s always another one.
I grew up being the remote, so my idea of “inconvenience” is different than others I guess.
Just don’t like Disney with the monopoly and influence they are trying to have on everything.

HULU just increased my bill $7.49 per month to $101.66. Also have google fiber for $82.83 per month. May try to look for cheaper options, but do like HULU's channel variety.

switched over to Hulu Live.
For my home TV and tailgating TV I use a Roku box. I really like the YouTube TV layout (guide) a lot more than Hulu as you can customize the order of the channels to your liking. Hulu Live only allows an alphabetical ordering (even in your favorite settings) and that blows. Overall I find the Hulu app interface to be subpar to that of YouTube TV app - especially for viewing options/info (i.e. split screening, pulling up score/game stats, quick channel change to other games etc...)
For tailgating YouTube TV is also way more flexible than Hulu Live when using a Roku device. YouTube TV allows you to be away from your "home network" to stream the service without worry of the type of device you are using to do the streaming. YouTube TV adjusts to the location you are in and switches you to the local channels of the tailgate or travel location (instead of your home network local channels).
Hulu Live won't allow live TV streaming on what they consider a "home device" (i.e. Hulu App on Roku or your TV) outside of your home network area. They will allow you to stream on a "mobile device" (i.e. phone, tablet, laptop) outside your home network area. If you use a "home device" outside your home network area, they will allow you to change your "home network" location a total of 4 times over the life of your account but on that 4th change - you had better be at your true home location because they won't let you change it again.
There is somewhat of a workaround to this Hulu Live limitation in that you can use your Hulu provider credentials to login to the ESPN App, and any of the specific channel apps in your Hulu Live package (i.e. Fox Network app, CBS network app etc...) to get them at the tailgate location on a "home device" but that is a pain in the rear end if you want to switch between games that might be on two or three different apps.
IMO this is a huge FAIL with Hulu Live. I carry a Roku box with me when I travel and have used it for years to stream games and other stuff while I'm on vacation/road. I won't be able to do that with Hulu Live and is the reason I'll probably cancel Hulu Live this week and switch to Fubo (which I had years ago) which does allow travel streaming on Roku devices similar to that of YouTube TV.

I switched to Sling and for $60 but you need to know what the package offers since the Orange package + sports but can only watch one device at a time but if you get the Blue + sports you cane get 3 different devices if you get Orange / Blue package with sports you cand get 4 devices at one time. Base packages start at $45.99 and $10.00 for sports.
