a streak got started but it appears 42 years later it will come to an end for the Clemson Men's Golf program 2025 making the NCAA Regional/Tournament.Got so use to seeing so many great Clemson Golf teams and Individuals excel in that time span that it will be odd not seeing it happening again this season.The 2024-25 team finished a combined 72-74-3 in 11 tournaments,therefore they won't meet the required .500 or better record to make a Regional.Sucks that both Golf programs, men and women seasons have come end and no NCAA postseason to look forward to keeping up with.

Yea and not just the 2003 National Championship team either as back in the 80's and 90's there were a lot of Tiger teams that finished in the Top 5 at the National Tournament.Coach Jordan Byrd has got some mighty serious coaching and recruiting to do during the offseason after having this long streak end.Only Oklahoma State had a longer streak at 65 years(1947-2011).The streak of 42 seasons for the Tigers was current active streak.

It's really really sad. I hadn't even thought about the women's team... kinda assumed they were doing enough.

Both teams could have made a double bogey instead of a triple bogey for one player in 11 tournaments which equals approximately 3000 holes of golf. Something that you never think about until it's over. The ladies have some good looking freshman and some recruiting coming in.

Byrds recruited well enough to make the tournament. Neither team recruits well enough to make a serious contender for national titles... and that, like baseball really should be our expectations with our history. Granted, the women have only existed a decade with the rough start of a bad coach. So they get some leeway imo.

While I don't think a coaching change is warranted at this time, but if Byrd doesn't produce next year, then you have to make a change. According to our posters in the know, it's not a facilities issue. We have the same problem as other top d1 teams as far as schollys. So it kinda points back to coaching recruiting and development. I don't foresee any golfers on Clemson roster the last 5 years that will go pro. Larry handed him a team with the last great golfer, Jacob bridgeman.

Currently they're no golfers in the top 200 rankings. Larry always had at least one or two. Maybe nil can help. Wish we'd get a serious Q and A with media and coaches and ask the tough questions.
