Had Clemson season started differently?

Had we started with two cupcakes Furman,Troy then North Carolina before the other ACC teams. I believe Clemson be sitting undefeated right now. All this offense needed was some confidence and to gel. It seems this offense is doing that and I’m not sure they lose another game. Maybe they lose to Louisville but 8-4 to 9-3 to end the regular season seems likely. Hopefully Cade improves his draft stock

Not if they didn't score a whole lot more 2nd,3rd and 4th quarters.

Even with who we have played, we would be 5-1 or 6-0

If we played against UNC and BC (two worst teams in the country) every game we would be undefeated.

Cade wasn’t doing that in the first 4 games and it’s why we lost 3. He is seeing the field now and throwing accurate balls.
His point was irrelevant.

Perhaps scheduling these home and home games with the heavyweights ( which are necessary to boost our SOS ) are predicated on being season openers if they are to happen at all.
It seems they are just throwing the ACC a bone.
Especially when you look around and see the same scenario at other ACC members

If we were actually elite we would win these opening “tough games” like we did from 2015-2020!

But wouldn’t you say it’s possible for an average team to start out bad. But finish elite? It’s unfortunate to get off to a rough start but this team can finish as one of the hottest teams in the country even with just a bowl game.

The QB was in a mental funk the first 4 games.

Cade was missing a dozen or more plays every game plus he was bailing out of the pocket immediately and showing poor QB play from basically every measurable.
If he hit even half of those missed plays against LSU, we win. Same for GT, and a strong same case can be made for Syracuse.
I’ve been saying it all year - if the QB plays as capable we beat LSU and are sitting at 5-1 or 6-0 right now.
The reason we aren’t is unarguable.

Neither UNC nor BC is a good football team. We will know more after we play SMU and again after we play Duke. So far, we have not looked good against teams that know how to play defense or offense or both.

I like that we won the last games, but I don’t think that proves too much. We beat up on weak teams, plain and simple. Hopefully that has allowed us to fix some fixable mistakes and build some very much needed confidence, but time will tell. I’m hoping we find some real and permanent answers. Time will tell, though

We don’t know. We haven’t played anyone with a pulse the last two games. You say they are gelling now yet we won’t know until be this weekend. SMUs D is bad but so was cuse. So we’ll see if we beat them like we should.
The real test will be the remaining schedule after SMU outside of Furman.
