If that's the whole quote, it's not really helping his case.

There is still more to the quote. In the original interview he singles out the academic center and tutors before making the now infamous quote.

dude you got a player on your team that one of his coaches at south pointe says could not even spell USC yet he is on the academic honor roll by some stretch of the imagination. have you ever heard some of the "road" scholars on your team being interviewed. not to mention coach ebonics. please dont try to defend coot academics on a clemson board. it just will not fly.

He said it, we all know what he meant, and his intelligence rings true in all of his tweets. Even after all the back peddling that sounds like it was done due to pressure b/c of his shortsightedness he still looks like an idiot that is committed to a place that will welcome his lack of intelligence with open wings.
