A lot! He's done nothing but make plays in the small sample size he's seen. A 6'5 weapon like that is a 1 on 1 nightmare for a DB. He should be seeing all that back shoulder and jump balls around the endzone Tee Higgins use to live off of. Makes no sense to get a player like this as a Senior and then let it go to waste.

is this does us ZERO good in the future when we go after portal players. NO one can me he is less talented or performs less that several others who play in front of him.

Agree. He just seems to have that juice to him. He makes plays when he’s in and you’re right with that frame…he should be a dream target in the end zone. Hope he gets opportunities because I think he’s a talented kid, but also it demonstrates to future portal targets when you get here you will see the field.

Listed as an “or” starter with Cole Turner.

He should have been returning and kicks .. we would still have our #1 receiver if he did ..

With Wesco out, I am pretty sure this is a given. I do not understand the point of your post. He played a ton 2 weeks ago when Wesco went out, but he is clearly 4th on the depth chart.

Dabo’s answer today built in Cole Turner way more than I had hoped. I understand that he’s Wesco’s backup but he’s not the answer for catching contested passes or getting open downfield. Moore and Williams sharing snaps on that side with Smith increasing his snaps on the opposite side is the better answer. More Tyler Brown at slot to backfill for Williams. It doesn’t have to be complicated, but this idea next man up Cole Turner is overly simple and lazy by the staff.

with Wesco out, Turner is a threat to take the top off the defense and respect the deep ball, Smith is not.. I like Smith, but the coaches see him every day in practice; he is more of a situational g,uy. I like that they are using him in the redzone, but we also have 2 very athletic tight ends who can do the same. and of course, our staff does this at the highest level for a living, we watch on TV.. I am not sure why you would doubt them here. Smith very well could find himself moving up the depth charts if he performs. Right now he is just being targeted much, and I would, in my best guess, think he does not get good separation. He is a great boundary receiver, but so is Moore.

lol this is so wrong! this is DABOS thinking and a big reason we are so bad this year . Turner is no threat for anything. Him playing ahead of anyone is just criminal on Dabos part!

The point of the post is he shouldn't be 4th on the depth chart or behind Turner. Did you just wanna be that one guy? Just a simple "yes" to that is all that's needed.

for not using 6'5" Tristan Smith and 6'4" Bentancur near the goal line with 6'3" TJ Moore this lost season.
