Georgia's Running backs

Please help me understand. This is not a question about Paul per se. Georgia already has the # 4 and the # 16 Running backs committed for this class. They have at least 4 already in their RB stable--(if White and Cook leave). Georgia has 27 commits so far this year. So, my question is in 2 parts: Why would any lower rated running back go there and, how can Georgia simply continue to oversign each year? Are there no repercussions to always signing more than the allowed 25 per class? I realize Georgia will greyshirt several, but, can the NCAA stop them?

sign every single recruit that would now be considered a 5 star recruit. They would have 200 on their team. It didn't matter because there were no scholarship restrictions. That changed, so the high end talent started going other places.. Well, now there's the NIL. A player can now go to a school, sign a NIL, which could be used to cover your tuition plus A LOT more. A school would not need to have this player use up one of the scholarships.
We are on our way back to teams having over 200 people on their squad.

With NIL, more schools are attractive to recruits, but with only so much top talent to go around, we may see more parity down the road.

Does anyone really have an idea how much someone like Paul realistically would make year one from NIL?
What company is shelling out significant money for the third highest rated RB recruit? Is there really ROI on that?
Or is NLE just a euphemism for booster checks?
If so, I’m still very curious what type of dollars are actually hitting a player like his bank account.

Smart and no doubt accurate take. My question is how many of these highly paid recruits will be satisfied with no game time? Likewise, how many boosters will continue to fund recruits and especially upperclassmen who do not start? Seems like there will be an extremely large secondary market for late bloomers and recruits who never play & are running out of time to impress the NFL.

Tampa, I understand exactly what you're saying and I have the same thoughts and questions. Maybe a guy like Paul is content to go to uga and ride the pine for a few NIL bucks. Doubt he'd get much if he ain't seeing the field. I could see one wanting to do that if said school was their dream school and didn't care whether they played or not... Like Rencher. But those are few and far between.
Certainly as David Shaw, Stanford said 2 years ago, in his disgust of AZ st recruiting or something, that coaches placate these recruits into thinking they're the one... When reality is, said coach knows there is no way that player will ever see the field. So then 2 yrs that recruit is in the portal.

They signed 20 last year and had three blueshirt transfers. Plus they get up to an extra 7 this year to replace transfers.

Georgia is loaded With Running backs currently and have two Crystal balls for top 100 in 2023. If Paul goes there he will be passed over or transfer in two years.

That is a legitimate take. The portal eliminates a lot of risk for the player though since the aren’t really locked into their commitment.
From his perspective, why not go to UGA and see how it goes? Worst case scenario he redshirts and gets no playing time, but he does gain experience from being in a top RB room and elite coaching.
He’ll also keep tread on his tires, which is important for a RB.
After a year, if he decides to go elsewhere seeking PT, pretty much any school will take a UGA RB transfer. Its not a red flag like transferring out of almost any other program would be.
I don’t know much about him as a player, but prefer we land who we offer. Just saying that going to a program with a dozen 5 star RB’s lined up isn’t as crazy as it may have been a few years ago.
As for 2022, we should be just fine with Shipley/Pace/Mahfa, although a high end freshman for additional depth and development would have been nice to have.
