Future Scheduling

I know that schedules are made way in advance but I would like to go back to scheduling a cupcake for week 1 and the LSU type teams in week 2. My thinking is that we’re in a different age of CFB and with the advent of paying players for hire, each year there can be big roster changes for your opponents. So looking at the previous years tape for preparation of your week one opponent doesn’t really tell you a lot. Getting them on tape from the prior week IMHO gives you a better look for game planning for week two. Yes they likely won’t be opening up their playbook week one (depending on their opponent) but I think this strategy is more beneficial that playing the high risk/reward game week one.

Seems we should have the week 1 advantage with our same personnel.***

Nope.

Love it. This game was scheduled like 10 years ago...LSU has been through 3 coaches since then.

Agree. This scheduling sucks. We are 1-4 in our first games for the past 5 years I believe. That should tell somebody something. We should schedule weaker teams than what we have been doing. WE have taken it on the chin on national TV. Do we have to go to LSU next year ?

I don’t want to get rid of the high profile games, just move to week 2.

This was a great weekend of football with 3 Top 10 teams losing to Top 10 teams and and another losing to an unranked team. Players want to play big games and people want to see big games. When you have matchups of Top 10 teams, one of the teams has to lose but it is what happens the rest of the year that makes the difference.

I agree but we seem to be on the losing side almost always.

Heel we can't win our last big OOC game of the regular season lately in Death Valley!

We shouldn’t put teams like Furman SC State Troy Charlotte on the schedule

With the SEC going to an additional conference game and possibly a multi year series with the BIG, next years LSU game will probably be the last regular season game against an SEC team other than the #####.
Neff has already prepared for the cancellation of the Oklahoma and Ole Miss series by agreeing to play Notre Dame every year.
We are headed to a schedule of ND and South Carolina, a group of five and an instate FCS. If we quit playing FCS schools then we will play a Big 12 team. Occasionally, we will play a Season opening neutral site game.

There is no future Ole Miss series. Just 4 games against UGA and 2 against OU.

Count on the SEC and B1G not doing that deal now with a 9th SEC game. No way schools like GA SC and Fl with an instate P4 rival are going to agree to that too.
