Pretty darn cool. Thanks for posting. I'm sure he's not the only one that's told him that. And think what his roledex is like as far as who he can get advice from.

I agree we have been blessed to have him so far, but saying we owe him is a little far. He’s paid $11M a year.

I will say that I totally appreciate Dabo and everything he has done for Clemson FB. But not in any way can I appreciate his last two coaching hire, nor his hard choice at QB bc, there were much better choices he could have brought to Clemson that would have been glad to come and work for Dabo. And there is just no way I can believe that DJ is the best choice as our QB, and if he is, that means that our QB recruiting has suffered more than any of us realizes!!!

when Dabo became our HC . . . Mac was one of the first HCs Dabo called and asked if he and his staff could visit . . . Mac was a gracious host and answered every question Dabo asked . . . They have been close friends ever since . . . That will never change.
Call him what you want . . . but Mac Brown is “Good People”!!!

Not sure exactly where Brown fell in the sequence of phone calls Dabo made, but Brown (at Texas) was apparently the only coach to go above and beyond the extra mile to help Dabo get his feet under him and set the direction he would lead the program.

Skeet there’s more to that story. Before Dabo contacted Mac he contacted Bob Stoops at OU. Stoops wouldn’t give him the time of day. Mac even took the coaching staff out for burgers while they were on their visit to Texas.

named head coach and invited Dabo and the Clemson staff to visit him in Texas. Apparently Dabo and company spent some 3 days in Texas picking Mac Brown's brain and since that time they have had a great relationship. Mac took an interest in Dabo when very few established active coaches did and is something for which Dabo is eternally grateful.
I really don't care for the Tarholes but I do like Mac Brown - he seems to be one of the good guys in the profession.
