Clarett threw himself under the boos. Tressell just didn't help pick him up right away.
Tressell is the king of not being what he seems. Heis a cheater thru and thru.
Clarett made some terrible choices and kept digging himself deeper and deeper.
Coddled for years and told how great he is for years. Add alcoholism to that and it spell TROUBLE.

Free tattoos = cheating?

You can say what you want, but a cheater through and through it is a bit ridiculous. Players selling memorabilia for tattoos doesn't really help much on the field. I think Tressel is exactly what he seems, and what he said on the documentary. He tries to pull kids out of bad areas and be a father figure to them. His fatal flaw was that he tried to protect them and lied doing so. Was he right? No. But I'm inclined to believe parents could have sent their kids to play for far worse people. You have to also remember the Buckeyes got the NCAA version of a colonoscopy not once, but twice. (Clarett and Pryor) They found tattoos for memorabilia and nothing else.

I'd be willing to bet that if the NCAA looked into the SEC schools that hard that they would find much worse at most of them.

I would go as far as to say that it goes on at all D1 schools. A lot of this kids come from a poor background and then they become kings of the school and what 18, 19, 20 year old is going to turn down free stuff that they are being told "hey no one will every findout".

The NCAA knows where the bread is butter and when a university allows too much to get out in public then they have to step in clean up the mess. It is a screwed up scenario and it all starts with the NCAA and their greed for money.
