Former Clemson DE among "fallers" in 2022 NFL training camps

Aug 10, 2022, 9:13 AM

Former Clemson DE and No. 4 overall pick Clelin Ferrell was tagged as a "faller" in Las Vegas Raiders training camp by a Raiders beat writer in a Pro Football Focus piece on Wednesday:

"The Raiders declined Ferrell’s fifth-year option before the season, and now he hasn’t practiced since July 27. Not a great start to Ferrell’s fourth NFL season under new leadership in Las Vegas."

The former multi-year first-team All-American has eight sacks over 42 games as a pro.

Cle benefited from being on arguably the best DL in CFP History! Yes he was a big part but he is not the absolute freak athlete that Top 5 Draft picks and #1 DE usually are in the NFL Draft. Hope he finds success on his next team and has long healthy career! Just don’t think it’s gonna happen in Las Vegas.

It's all good

Cle was great for us and helped us win a championship. He also got paid big time when he was drafted with the #4 overall pick. It doesn't get much better than that.

The rest is gravy.

He'll always be special to us regardless of what happens in the NFL.
