program, if that is the case, you would be totally missing what is happening happening here. Again IF that is what is going on here ...
Dabo is getting exactly what he wants. He has been training and grooming these other guys, already on staff, for this very moment, for years. Both Venables and Elliott have been considered for head coaching positions before, and Dabo knew this day was probably coming. He was not blindsided; rather, he had been preparing for it for years. The guys he is choosing are EXACTLY who he wants. He knows that Manny Diaz and Ted Roof and Chad Morris and John Gruden and (fill in the blank)_________________ are available. He knows about people who are available that we don't know about. Guess what? If he wants any of them, he will make them an offer. But it's very possible that he's already got exactly who he wants. He may believe that the people he has on staff already are better than any of the people all of YOU want him to interview or hire. Dabo understands the importance of fan support better than anybody, and he sincerely knows that is one thing that separates Clemson from the rest, but he doesn't owe any of us jack ####### #### when it comes to making coaching hires. He may not need to interview anybody from the outsdie. Why go through the motions of interviewing other coaches to satisfy a bunch of know-nothing fans (relatively speaking) if the plan is already in place?
Do any of you really think that Dabo was blindsided by any of this? I'd bet everything I have that after BV received the initial phone call from Oklahoma, he immediately called his wife, and as soon as he hung up with her, he called Dabo, and the wheels have been turning ever since.
Relax, people. In a year or two or five, outside of a few sourpuss complainers who have a permanent stickintheass and will complain no matter what, Clemson football will be rocking right along, the world will still be turning, and the sun will still be shining.

being different is going to stand out. Dabo knows that. All the big boys will have NIL money and players transfer, but can they offer the things Dabo has preached for 13 years?

Certainly hope we here at Clemson fare better than the Frenchies did relying on the Maginot Line!

doubt that many of the big boys look at recruits in the same way that dabo does.meaning education and character building come first.football comes after those two.can't help but wonder.will bv be allowed to instill that philosophy into ou's program?

Yeah I know. Every one of you keep posting pretty much this same message over and over. Clemson hasn't had to hire a major coach (outside of a couple position hires) in over aa decade. Now we've got not one but 2 to hire.
It's huge news. It's wild and uncharted waters. It would be a whole lot less debated if we weren't coming off our worst record and offense in 8 years. Throw in the fact we were having a down year in number of recruits, let alone 3 studs decomnit. Along with that, we've had 8 leave the program. All of this is happening and YOU don't expect people to talk about it? You don't expect there to be concern or ask questions?
A lot of what you're seeing posted by fans (yes true Clemson fans that give tons of money to Clemson) has been bubbling up for 4 or 5 years but how could you say anything when you're playing for nattys. I would be shocked if it wasn't being discussed. See what I'm saying? It's not bad. Actually kinda interesting.

it. No problem talking about all of the changes. I just find it mind-bottling that so many people continue to be baffled or disappointed by Dabo promoting from within rather than hiring from outside the program. It's very, very simple, and very, very reasonable. No mystery, and the reasoning suggesting that not looking outside the program is a mistake, is flawed.

What so many on here fail to realize is that unless you are Alabama, you will have rebuilding years and even rebuilding periods. It is part of football. For some reason Saban is an exception, but he is a football god or something. Normal programs have down years. Normal programs have set backs when coordinators leave. It is unavoidable. The only way to never lose coordinators is have ones so sorry no one wants them.
