their music was dang good, but due to their name, it was way too embarrassing to ever be seen with a "Tears For Fears" CD in your car. Same for the Goo Goo Dolls. Wang Chung.

Some bands should have thought through the name a little better.

Aren't you all glad Pearl Jam didn't stick with "Mookie Blalock"?

Police, Smiths, Cure, Prince, Sonic Youth, Guns n Roses, U2, Van Halen, Pixies, The The, New Order, U2, Stone Roses, Replacements, New Order, Peter Gabriel, XTC, Cinderella, Tom Petty's best work, The Cars, Black Crowes, Go-Gos, Dream Syndicate, Meat Puppets, Jane's Addiction........

That's just one minute of stream of consciousness typing on the well known artists.......It was a fantastic decade for music if you stay off the top 40 lists.
