Florida State now looking for a way out of ACC??

1

Feb 25, 2023, 11:28 PM

Story on E$PN. com says they cannot stay and take a $30M hit each year compared to other conferences. Clemson is in the same boat. Kind of feels like something is going to happen sooner or later to force a change.

Dabo's comments last week said that he expects big change in the P5 teams but he sounded like it was coming sooner than later. He didn't elude to anything except the fact that change is going to happen. No way too tier schools will sit back and lose $30-50mil in revenue annually if they are serious about ball.

Fsu can't win where they are now...talk about unequal distribution...when fsu loses the stands are empty...that won't sit well with Disney or the sec...they already have trouble hiding empty seats at Vanda and others...some folks will not pay money to see thugs beat each other up...that's all over the country...Stanford and Cal both had pitiful attendance this season...guess Disney could put porky pig and Donald duck in the stands...CCC always puts on a better show... Dabo won't budge!

It’s funny you think they even care about fans in the stands. That’s certainly not first. It’s about eyes on a screen.

If we were to start losing 5or 6 games a year..Death Valley would literally
be Death Valley with the exception of true Tiger fans.

Sounds like something(s) is brewing, for sure, and sooner rather than later.

Grant of Rights. FSU isn't going anywhere

Feb 26, 2023, 12:11 AM

Unless they can cough up half a billion dollars.

Signing that grant of right was a horrible move. University presidents should be fired. You never sign a contract in college football for nearly 20 years. College football changes too much too fast.

Nah, at some point if Clemson, FSU, Miami all leave—they can force the ACC to submit and stuff it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

that grant of rights is meaningless.

This is headed to two divisions of big boy football, similar to NFL with AFC/NFC. It will be the BIG10 vs the SEC.

We should move to SEC or BIG10 as soon as either offers, regardless of the grant of rights. I think FSU will leave sooner than later. Not sure we get an offer from either.

If Clemson, as a 3-time Natty Champ, cannot get an invite...

1

Feb 26, 2023, 11:09 AM

to either of those conferences then college football is completely screwed up. Most of the teams at least in the B1G 10 will never sniff a Natty. The same can be said for at least some of the $EC teams as well. Clemson brings pedigree and history with them to either conference. Just my thought on that.

PR is everything! There’s a reason this is going public!

Maybe it’s so we can see if they ACC will give us more money or maybe it’ll be used later on in the courts as a way of saying we tried.

Clemson won’t be in the ACC for much longer!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course they are, and so is Clemson

Feb 26, 2023, 12:12 PM

...and every other program with cache. Thiis is only surprising if you don't understand the end goal of conference expansion.

We could just take out a loan and pay it back with the huge money coming from BIG10 or SEC. Use the loan to pay the GOR penalties.
