This could get interesting:
"In his letter, Scott wrote that the Atlantic Coast Conference and FSU "have been denied $2 million of revenue distribution" as a result of the decision which is "just a fraction of the total economic impact that playoff contention would have created for FSU."
Scott provided a list of 10 pieces of information he wants the committee to review and address including written communications between committee members leading up to the decision, notes, recordings, and other information related to the announcement.

It’s not a waste of time. Keep those members in congress busy on stuff like this so they don’t pass any new laws or regulations that screw up the. Country any more.

I would love to hear the conversation around the table that led to their decision. This is no way the same as disgruntled parents. Talking real money.

Like we don't have enough problems down here. Rick Scott is a joke. We can't keep our homes insured, being forced fed flood insurance in non flood plains, 37,000 other issues and that jack wad is suing over a sport. Good grief.

Flood zones are decided by FEMA , not legislators. FEMA can force you to take out Flood insurance on you are in a 1 every 100 years zone. I fell into that category and had to purchase flood insurance. God luck with FEMA.
When I worked down in Florida you biggest concern for me was your hurricane deductibles. Hugo and Andrew put several smaller insurance companies out of business.

Nothing may come of it but I'm actually glad he did it. The committee should not get away with what they did by just offering up some lame excuse and expecting everyone to be ok with it. At least this creates a little heat for them and maybe they wont be so quick to make stupid decisions in the future without expecting repercussions.

Nope they haven't . We want the questions answered like:
1. why did you decide to put Bama over FSU using the eye test yet ranked Georgia behind FSU using the same eye test?
2. If the injured QB was your reasoning for leaving FSU out in favor of Bama, why did you have them ranked at 4 all the way to the conference game, which they won, then slide Bama in at the last minute ? They had played 3 weeks of football with the backup QB so it makes no sense
3. How did FSU not pass the eye test being an undefeated power 5 conference champ , but Bama who lost a game and also had at least 2 other games against subpar competition they barely won, one of them being an actual miracle ?
While what's done is done , those 3 questions will FORCE the committee to admit that they were not able to remain consistent therefore are flawed and the public should be made aware of it

There need to be hard questions asked. Maybe not by a politician but at least he had the guts to do it. Somehow ESPN is at the core of this doing whatever necessary to prevent another UGA/TCU or Bama/Cincy snoozer. Follow the $$$.

They dropped FSU out due to losing a QB not believing it was the same team. They wanted the 4 best. Thats the only answer you need. I think Georgia should have dropped to 4, but who cares? They have given the reason for FSU being out. You arent getting more than that and thats all the Senator would get as well. They system can be questioned, but its an absolute waste of time.

Let me translate your post: "because the committee said so"
You didn't answer one of the 4 questions I asked and the reason for that is because you can't . You don't know the answer because there is no logical one . If anything, you just gave us more evidence that we need to investigate this much further and I hope Florida gets some answers for all of us

They have it in their criteria that they had coming into the season. It wasnt made up on the spot. Bottom line it is what they decided due to the situation. Thats they all have to say. They could laugh in Scott's face if they wanted. They were going for the 4 best and they no longer saw FSU as one of the 4 best. Its a waste of time. The rest is going over your head. Nothing can be done and there are no further questions needed to be answered.

Again, I have asked you to go through the 3 questions I have laid out and respond with answers that you say the committee has already given and you CANNOT DO THAT because the committee has not answered the questions . You can only respond with "the committee said Bama is better than FSU so na-na-na-booboo"
You would make an excellent politician . Can't answer #### questions with a straight answer

Answer:
A. If in the SEC: Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and Tennessee would beat you. FSU is a fifth or sixth place team.
B. If in the B1G: Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State would beat you. FSU is a fourth place team there.
C. The above seven teams would win the ACC all the time if they were in that conference.
D. Having a football team come in first place in a basketball conference does not make you one of the best. Good but not elite.
E. Bobby Bowden wanted to be in an easy conference. He got what he wanted. No one takes that conference seriously. Hard to gauge how good any team is there due to most schools not taking football serious.

Hey genius, they beat Florida who pistol whipped you. They beat LSU out of the gate and ruined their year. You are a typical SEC homer and drink the kool aid. Half your teams play garbage out of conference schedules and beat your chest when you only have two losses in conference. The problem is, you only have two good team this year. This year the SEC sucked in ooc games and got exposed. Don’t give me that crap about where they would finish. SEC = we don’t have to play games because we are the best.

I had no doubts that a Florida politician would get
Dec 5, 2023, 6:08 AM

involved, if only to appease the FSU fanbase.
What good it will do is questionable and, perhaps, nothing. The problem is I've long held to the view that politicians would eventually involve themselves in college football over several issues: realignment, the NIL and the new transfer rules. Why? Because someone...and likely a bunch of someones are going to complain loudly enough, and the pols will come running. They always do.
Toss in the money involved and look out! That in of itself is going to be the one hot-button opening the doors.
I believe the Committee has to walk on eggshells in this matter, being extremely cautious not to appear condescending nor sancrosanct, for that may become enough ammunition for someone like Scott to carry this to the next step. There are too many people across the nation in addition to FSU who think a fix was in on the decision for the Committee to shrug off questions.
As for me, I didn't like the decision, not only for FSU, but because I think it affected us and other members of our conference. At the least it will cost us revenue. At the worst it further weakens the ACC. However, the damage has been done, and we are preparing for the Gator, as FSU is preparing for the Orange.
I might add, the discussion, still ongoing on TNet, about the decision has been great, and I'm still enjoying the comments, pro or con. A whole lot of reasonable and rational thinking has been put into the posts here, and I salute our TNetters,

As usual for politicians, the guy is way out of his lane. He has no authority to “demand” anything from the playoff committee. Sounds a lot like TNetters “demanding “ answer to “hard questions” from Dabo. I love it when people who have no authority “demand” something from others. Need to check their egos and move on. Some people are completely removed from reality.

So out of all the real problems we are facing in the USA where
Dec 5, 2023, 9:06 AM
|
|
Senator Scott and his Congressional buddies are failing miserably to address:
1. How the current and future generations of Americans are becoming slaves to a $33 TRILLION and growing Federal Government debt 2. The high inflation that has the citizenry reeling to pay for the basics of food, clothing, and energy 3. The fact that our all volunteer military is failing to recruit enough troops to adequately man our fighting formations and is a real threat to our national defense 4. The beating war drum's in Eastern Europe and the middle East whose handling have world-wide implications 5. How China is continuing on it's path of seeking supremacy over the USA through every adversarial avenue possible that include state sponsored hacking/stealing of US intellectual property, political bribery, and economic warfare 6. The out of control Federal bureaucratic state that is trying to regulate everything in our lives from light bulbs to ceiling fans to the type of automobile we must drive 7. The ever growing cancer of radical Marxist ideologies within the USA that have influenced large swaths of our education system from elementary school to college that is filling generations of American's heads with its anti-Constitutional system, collectivist, anti-individual liberty nonsense 8. Our open Southern border where millions of illegals from every country in the world have streamed across and we have no idea who they are and what they are bringing/doing inside the USA 9. The Fentanyl problem coming across our Southern border that is responsible for killing over 70,000 people in the USA every year since 2021
And these are just a few of the real issues facing the USA that I thought of off the top of my head...
So Senator Scott - instead of virtue signalling to some angry percentage of your constituency and wasting your time on a sporting event that is inconsequential to the real lives of US citizens - maybe you could refocus your energy into DOING YOUR D.A.M.N.E.D JOB!
