Paul Finebaum said on his show that "it's ridiculous that Clemson is in a BCS bowl".

There may be more "deserving" teams, but in this system

Clemson basically clinched an Orange Bowl bid when they beat Georgia Tech, as long as FSU won out.
I don't know why some talking heads seem so disappointed by it. It's the way the system, with its conference limits and conference tie-ins, works.

limits. But then again, the main reason the SEC has so many highly ranked teams is because of preseason poll bias.

Do you think Orange picks Clemson if they are not ACC?
Dec 9, 2013, 3:18 PM

(Assuming there wasn't an issue with conference limits)
I guess the key competitor would be Oregon. Yeah, that's a long trip from the west coast.

Does the Orange pick Oklahoma over Clemson? Really, the Orange picked before the Sugar anyway, and chose Clemson.

Most likely they do. Oregon was the only other option

really, and we will not only draw a better crowd (especially now that the game is on a Friday instead of mid-week following two weeks of holidays), but there's a compelling historical storyline that the OB will get a lot of play from leading up to this. Add in Meyer trying to hire The Chad two years ago and this fits the OB's goals well.

despite conference affiliation, yes.
We're known for traveling well, Orange Bowl is finally on a better time schedule than in 2011 when it was on a freaking Wednesday.
And this is the 35th anniversary of the '78 Gator Bowl matchup with Woody Hayes. I expect that to get played a lot.

Order of pick FSU and an SEC team in the national championship Distance Oklahoma becoming BCS eligible Upcoming ACC alliance.
I would guess that if the Fiesta had the first pick and it was Clemson or Oregon, Oregon goes.
I wouldn't argue anyone that said that Clemson backed into a BCS game. But there are a number of teams that have backed into the BCS in the past.

All the reasons why he thinks Auburn will destroy FSU, just so it can make his Tides loss look better. He is such a tool, he thinks that Vanderbilt would be a one loss team in the ACC or Big 10. Biggest SEC homer there is!

Well, if you consider what I think say about him. I use four letter words and often use references to his sexual relationships with his mother, grandmother and his Uncle Jack.
I guess that's why you are listening to his chit and I'm talking to my friends here on Tnet.

Does he think Clemson should be in the CHick-fil-a Bowl?
Dec 9, 2013, 3:44 PM

I think That Bowl would not be good enough, where as the Orange may be too good. I think Clemson at the very least deserves to be in a New Years Day Bowl, but becasue of the lock ins and tie ins and all, Clemson was either going to the Orange or going to the Chick (aka peach)
