In years when the Orange is a semi, the tie-ins are lost. The ACC would then be a "displaced champion" and be slotted into one of the other games (in this projection, the ACC champion was slotted into the Peach Bowl).
For years when the Orange Bowl is not a national semi (like last season), the ACC retains the link to the Orange.
