Faster paced offense in football

Mar 27, 2022, 11:01 PM

From what we are hearing we are going to run a faster paced offense than in the last 2 years. Do you think DJ is up to Taj and DW4 standards?

I was glad to hear that. Should be exciting. Time will only tell who is up to the task.

Does not matter if he is not up to their standards. They are not playing.

Tajh had one of the best skill position groups of all time supporting her and DW4 is/was on the path to HOF.

Not really a fair comparison plus the offense slowed down substantially during the DW4 years.

I never could understand why we slowed our offense down the past two years when we were having so much success prior with it fast-paced!!!!

this year probably had to do with 6 WR's being out, 2 TE's being out, Top 3 RBs left, and the OL had as many as 3 out at a time.

Takes a lot more to set up the play when they don't really know what they are doing

I am a bit torn with the fast-paced offense. I think our D

benefitted last year from slower, higher number of plays drives last year, especially after the injuries. I see the benefit, but likewise see the down side as well.

the HUNH more. We had seemingly many instances of defensive confusion against those type offenses last year. Skalski was about ready to take BV's head off a few times to get the defensive play called.

Seems like early on with that coach (senior moment can't recall his name) we did more up tempo. Then when he left it calmed down under Elliot and Scott.
I never understood why.

Morris left either. I guess for years we had the talent to just line up and do what we wanted without having to do anything gimmicky. We could’ve broken the scoreboard several times with the talent we had running a tempo offense.

Isn’t the original purpose of a hurry up spread to give lesser talented teams an advantage over more talented teams playing a conventional offence?
