I had to put the big boy pants on to buy this bottle yesterday. A store in town got a case of Discovery 4 and Fusion 4 and I decided to pull the trigger on Discovery 4 just incase all of the hype was real. Haven't opened it yet, but I have yet to see a bad review from anyone that has actually tried it. A lot of people in the know (ie folks with youtube channels and large social media followings), are saying that this is a competitor for BTAC, which if you know, is a MASSIVE deal since Buffalo Trace pretty much has the "elite" market of the bourbon world cornered with the Antique Collection lineup.

Of course all of the buffalo trace fan boys are all upset that they can't get a hold of this one at MSRP as they wipe their tears with their Blantons. I now only own four bottles of $100+ MSRP value, this being added to the collection for an MSRP of $135, which is the most I have ever spent for MSRP (others are Elijah Craig 18 Year at $150 (spent well over that on secondary), Sam Houston 14 Year at $124, and Nashville Single Barrel Rye at $112)

This is a 100% sourced bottle that was supposedly blended by/selected by the head chef at the Bardstown Distillery. The fine folks over at Bardstown are fully blending right now while their stock matures fully. Before you say, "blended bourbon?" slow your roll and remind yourself that unless you only drink single barrel bourbons, you are drinking blended bourbon. The guys at Bardstown are just sourcing bourbon from different distilleries and finding the perfect recipe to bottle. Rumors are that the three mashbills for this one came from Barton (15 year), Jim Beam, and Wild Turkey The breakdown on this guy goes something like this:
