Facebook status of a coot friend

Nov 5, 2012, 10:01 PM

I haven't posted on this site in years, but I just wanted to relay this facebook post from a recent coot graduate.

To my beloved Clemson fans,

It's getting close to that good ole' USC/Carolina (the real USC and only Carolina) vs. Clemson death match that comes around only once a year, where we can always rely on the endless whining and moaning about Spurrier's lack of 'class' (which coach Swinney undoubtedly has oh so much of), that God awful purple and orange, and of course the unfaltering reminder of the 'domination' that has taken place over the past 100 and some odd years (particularly as a retaliation after the outcome of the final score). Here's my two cents; don't hate Spurrier because of the merciless beatings that he bestows upon that hotheaded little boy of a coach and your precious tigers each year (he's only doing his classless job), orange and purple makes our eyes hurt, and finally, let's cut the crap, have some faith in your team by trash talking in the future tense rather than lingering insecurely on your past (or does the Clowney have your tounge?). By the way, to be true rivals you have to be on the radar (not under it), so for now Georgia's taken your spot.

Until we beat you again on the 24th..

Undoubtedly you should have picked better friends.

Anyone who writes that on their Facebook page needs to rethink having Clemson friends.

The funniest part about it is

Nov 5, 2012, 10:12 PM

he was in the Clemson bridge program, enrolled at Clemson a year later, wore the "ugly orange" Clemson attire every game for 2 years, then transferred to Carolina.

Did you reply back that they haven't been on our radar until this year...after over 100 years of playing them this year we are finally going to take them seriously?

what is a tounge? haha.

What I took from that post

Nov 5, 2012, 10:54 PM

1. This never became a rivalry until 3 years ago if you have to be on the radar to be a rival.

2. There needs to be more orange and purple in the world.

Tell your friend he is an idiot if he ever wants a good job

Nov 5, 2012, 11:00 PM

I have coots that work for me but I would never hire someone with that garbage on their Facebook - and trust me I check.

Some people take their feeling about any subject on Facebook wayyyy too far and risk losing a job or a promotion as a result. Of course the employer will make up another reason so they will never be told the real reason they weren't hired or promoted.

I have good fun with the coots that work for me and all are smart enough to know how far they can go and who the boss is.

If you fire or promote based on what they think of CU then you're a pathetic boss and bad for business.

Remind them of this if we win. "Clemson wins!" "Yeah, whatever our team isn't that good anyways, plus we won three in a row!" "What happened to 'not living in the past'?"
