Staying lucky with injuries is a key to winning. Stay well Tigers.

Any championship run requires few critical serious injuries. This is a good start with Georgia in only 2 weeks! After that it is a long season.

Wish for a healthy season, success will follow!

Go Tigers, Whoop JawJa!

Yep, the game of tackle FB will never escape without injuries but, but surely hope that Dabo and staff will turn down the pressure of how long they can hold blocks and how hard they can tackle each other at least until after the UGA game. I would be devastated if one of our D linemen was wanting to make a point of the guy he's blocking and shoved him into Cade or fell over Cade and took him out for the season. And I'm using Cade as example bc I truly believe that if Cade stays healthy, he is going to light it up this coming season!!!

I've watch most all of his HS games, and when he had a decent O line and receivers that were really good, Cade was the QB we believe we were getting out of HS, he won a lot of games, and he looked like a 5 star QB doing it. Give him a decent O line and good receivers, he will look like the 5 star QB that he was in HS, and like I've said, I truly believe in him if he has the things that all good QBs has to have for them to shine!!!

That ole saying that a really good QB can make average receivers look good, or really good receivers can make an average QB look good, I believe that is true...

Are you kidding? 3 players out for the entire season and they haven't played a single game yet? What's going to happen when the season starts for real? How many more players will go down?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly.

Aug 15, 2024, 4:38 PM

Especially with 2 of the practice injuries being OL depth.

Re: Exactly.

Aug 15, 2024, 5:12 PM

Neither OL would make the 3 deep. A true fresh and a RS Fresh that went out with injury last season that hasn't heeled completely. Same goes for RS Fresh CB wouldn't be on 3 deep and has the injury from last season not healed yet. While injuries suck, 2 happened last season and haven't even practiced this year. This report is actually very good.

I agree. While I wish we had 100% healthy and ready to play, this report is a very good one, IMO. There will be more, on the Tigers, as well as on all teams. It's just the nature of the beast. Its who has the good depth to wade through it that will rise to the top. Also thee will be some "luck" or "fortune" either good or bad that will determine who survives and stays atop or moves to the top of the heap.

I very highly doubt Stellato will play in more than a few games this season. The guy unfortunately just cannot stay healthy. Other than that not too bad of a report. We desperately need the injury bug to stay away this season.

I could be totally wrong but, I believe that these guys that seem to be injury prone, I think that it's mostly because they're lazy with their weight training and they're not getting the bodies in top FB playing condition. As a once upon a time weightlifter, I learn that it takes a very dedicated strong mind to get into it to where you get the most out of it.

Most people when they start weight training, it's over before they can get over that initial soreness right after they start bc it takes those muscles about 8 to 10 days to heal enough, and that's mostly bc they start out trying to do to much to fast and a few days after they are so sore they can barely move whatever muscle group they started out working. I started and stopped working out 3 or 4 different times before I ever stuck with it past that first soreness bc it's a biotch to talk yourself into going back and continue knowing how sore that you are.

I finally stuck with it by lifting really light weight 7 or reps of two sets the first two weeks, then I went to 10 reps 2 sets the 3d and 4th weeks and the soreness was nothing compared to what it was the other times I started and quit bc I tore my muscles down to much to fast. Anybody starting out should start light with 6,7, 8 reps with no more than 2 sets and slowly moving up the reps and the sets for at least a month before moving up in weight, reps, and sets. Do that and you will continue if you really want to build your body and get stronger.... Just thought that I would say this for anyone wanting to start lifting bc that was how I was finally able to stick with it, and once you start seeing those muscle grow, it makes you want to keep it up....

Re: TNET: Three Clemson football players out for the season with injuries

Aug 15, 2024, 6:19 PM

I think some bodies are just built different. Mike Williams is constantly hurt and Sammy Watkins was also hurt almost every season but they both weren't lazy, at least I think they weren't.

This is an absolute clown reply. If you’re even on the team at Clemson you’re well past the getting sore stage of weight lifting. These aren’t newbie lifters or seasonal for that matter, weight training should be a way of life. If it ain’t, that’s the problem

I believe Reed was highly recruited out of Texas. Top 100, 4 star but wasn't really counted on this year due to mounting injuries.

Yeah, I do too. Luke was high on Reed and hoping he'd make a good impact. Less so for Watson, but coach Luke has high hopes for him too.

Hate it for myles, this was supposed to be the year he started making an impact. Forever young.

Football players get seriously injured at practice and in games. So, why did the NCAA add more games? The playoffs will be a game of attrition. Just ask FSU if they should have skipped the ACC championship game or not played their QB .... so they could make the playoffs. We may see players opting out of conference championship games or various meaningless games.

Re: TNET: Three Clemson football players out for the season with injuries

What I’ve seen of Stellato, he’s actually very tough … especially mentally.

Fearless going for mis-thrown balls over the middle, which is a situation when many WRs get alligator arms (former WR E.J.Williams comes to mind).

It’s always a bit of a dice roll when a FB player ‘makes a special move’ that creates risk of bodily injury than if the ‘move’ was ordinary (I.e., self-protective as opposed to all-out).

Stellato, to my recollection, is one of those ‘all-out’ players that has had more than his share of bad luck as far as suffering injuries as a consequence.

Sure hope that he heals quickly and thoroughly!
