Everyone is missing the point

No Clemson shouldn’t have been in that position. But this is “professional” now. Every call and point counts. I don’t care that it’s Duke. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EIrGoy4CC5Q
Games do come down to these calls…

Two things can be true at once. The call was terrible and worthy of complaint. So was the defense.
There's enough anger and blame to go around. There's plenty for the HC, DC, players, and refs. And plenty leftover after they've had their share.

If it was offsetting. Replay the down at least. Giving Duke a free first down was bad. All I’m saying is give an offsetting or nothing. I could’ve appreciated competition vice a free first down.

You can't call offsetting PI on the same contact.***

Exactly.
Imagine if that call had not been made, and we took over and kneeled.for the win.
We would be saying, not exactly where you want to be, still miles to go. Still frustrated with a team .that should've put the game away. Ver ly frustrated with staff. But today, that struggling team did, in fact, face adversity and their own bad defense, botched a kick return coverage, and still found a way to get the win with a four down stand at the end. And despite so much to criticize, as well as a lot of positives (especially on offense), this team finally took a step forward to do enough to win ... to finding a way to.finish. and the bad call reversed that. Thats a fact.
How can we say its on clemson for losing after a terrible call ... but it would good on them for winning if that call is NOT made? The common factor in this one case hinges on refs.getting it right.vs refs making highly questionable call at critical moment after clemsons defense held ... and literally changed the outcome.
We should not have not been in that position ... should have played better to where.that call didnt matter. We have got to get back to winning despite bad calls.
But thats not what happened on this day. Over four quarters, we did just enough more than what Duke did to get to that position...and our defense made one more play that Dukes offense to win it ... and refs changed.the outcome
We can't back to that level of doing more than you need to win without first doing just enough to win. That 4 down stand should have been enough to win for a struggling team today. . We have a lot to fix. I personally think we need drastic coaching changes. And i dont see how this staff and team gets 2 wins out of FSU, Louisville and SC (assuming Furman is a win) to get to .500 abd bowl eligible. And next year may be worse without drastic changes in how we coach, prepare, manage roster., etc.
But today I am gonna criticize the refs who seem to be getting worse every year ...in a game where we finally did just enough to pull it out, and refs took the win away.
Shouldnt have been in that postion. We are not a good program. But refs suck and took the win away when we did in fact get the stop on downs. Both things can be true.

I don't think people are missing the point. It's just sad that we are feeling robbed against Duke in a college football game. Some people have never experienced the bad years so this is new to alot of people

Duke has one of the highest paid QB’s in FBS. Losing to Duke today is different than years past. I know you’re saying a lot of fans haven’t experienced tough years and I’d agree with that.

Stop the 2 point conversion

Whether it was or wasn’t doesn’t matter, they are still losing at that point. Then they lined up and beat your butt on the 2 points conversion.
But even after that you still had 40 seconds, but you run a stupid pick play and get called for offensive PI. Then they give you a free play because they jump and Cade basically runs the clock out running across the field.

It should have been def holding. Our DB rode him like a pony for the first 3-4 secs of the route.
What does it matter? 4-4 or 3-5 are both cellar dwellers.
