Running Game

Rewatching the game and Etienne was running the ball really well, especially in the first half. Nevertheless, coaches only gave him 8 carries the entire game. What am I missing?

Fair. He also had a couple of nice screens. My bigger point being the QBs had 17 carries, to only 13 for our running backs. Our runnings backs are so talented, would like to see them get more of an opportunity to establish the running game.

It seems to me about our only running play is the zone read. In essence, the defensive end decides who gets the ball on that play because the QB decides whether to keep it or hand it off depending on what the DE does. I don't know exactly, but I would say at least 2/3 or our running plays are zone reads.

In our system, zone read seems to mean QB keeper.

Not trying to say KB is a ball hog... DW carried it too much in my opinion for having WG9 behind him.

I think it comes down to our O-Line really.

We could not run the ball, we were getting no push against A&M. Their D was living in our backfield for most of the game.

Playalling was a little drab, but our biggest problem was that our OL stunk it up for most of the game.

Our RB's couldn't get going (Feaster has no vision btw), our QB's were constantly being harrassed, and that effected our passing game.
