Streeter should've never been hired/promoted to OC to begin with........I and others said that was a mistake last year.
we also said Dabo needed to go make a PROVEN OUTSIDE HIRE to HELP correct this........just like 2011 OC hire and 2012 DC hire
if anything he proved some on here RIGHT and Dabo finally brought himself to take action.

You know someone else that was doubted by almost everyone when they were hired? A scrappy young fellow named Dabo Swinney. Sometimes you have to risk it for the biscuit. Dabo risked it and now he's went another direction. You should risk a post not being a complaint occasionally, you never know, you might like it.

You misunderstood.
I know we all said this needed to happen....
But we all also said he wouldn't fire Streeter....but he proved us wrong and did what needed to be done

Let’s not act like Dabo is dunking on everybody for getting rid of a bad hire he solely was responsible for. I’m pumped for Riley too, but this is two buddy hires Dabo has made at OC that have flopped now. Let’s pray the lesson stuck this time.

But This shows Dabo isn't complacent like we all thought he had become, he has obviously seen the approach he took was incorrect and is doing what needs to be done to correct it....this is a sign that no one on that staff is safe.....LETS GOOOO TIGERS

I think what he means when he says Dabo proved everyone wrong is that most people did not believe he was going to make any coaching moves for the next season. In fact, they were convinced he was so set in his ways of proving that he made the right call that he would purposely hang on to them longer than he should hoping to develop them into respectable coaches.
So, yes, he did surprise a lot of people and "proved" that thinking was wrong.

Still not sure what did not qualify Streeter. Been in the system for numerous years but it did not work out. Sometimes it happens.
Dabo was never even a coordinator and became the head guy. Fact is Dabo would not have promoted him if he did not think he had a shot. Hate it did not work out for Streeter but Dabo did at least give him an opportunity and for that I’m sure Streeter will be forever grateful, learn from it and get better because of it.

would make a move, but most, I thought, hoped he would.
I try to be circumspect about these kinds of things; however, in my mind I thought something had to be done to assure that the talents of our star QB's weren't going to be wasted.
Thus, I wasn't surprised. We have to remember that Clemson football is no trifling, backyard Mom and Pop hobby. It is a multi-million dollar business, requiring a tough-minded leader at the helm with one primary responsibility: continue to improve the bottom line with increasing dividends. For our program that means pulling out all the stops to keep Clemson at the top. I knew dammmm well that national discussions of a regressing Clemson were not going to sit well, particularly with one main body of people: our BOT. Dabo, no doubt, understood all of that, and coupled with his own drive for excellence, produced his move.
Good for him; better for our program.

I'm excited about the hire too, but I am not buying that the process was that cut and dry.
From 2021 to 2022 the offense improved from 101st to 48th. We took another step forward the last two games with Cade under center. Even though we struggled to score against Tennessee, we still put up 485 yards, and held the ball over 35 minutes. If Dabo expects us to be satisfied with 10 or 11 wins, then why would he not be satisfied with that improvement?
I wasn't thrilled with the hire of Streeter, but to me these seem like reasonable improvements. I wanted more, but I think that Streeter probably met my expectations especially considering Streeter's lack of experience in that position. Why would Dabo promote Streeter if he expected much more?
My gut says that Streeter wasn't willing to stay within certain parameters that Dabo wanted and there was a mutual split. Streeter has obviously been out the door for more than half of a day. I find it hard to believe that Riley wouldn't do some due diligence, so when did things really go down? If it had been a simple firing then word would have been out more than an hour before the replacement was hired.
Yes, I am happy with the change. I'm ecstatic that we went outside of the Clemson family to get young, innovative, fresh ideas. No I'm not buying that Dabo simply fired Streeter and proved us wrong.

Dabo merely corrected the problem he created with poor/lazy planning and damaged a lot of people in the process, not to mention $$$ in buyots and new oc.
