He’s played 10 years in the nfl and won a super bowl and he’s coached in the nfl for several years. All players that come to play DL at Clemson do so with aspirations of getting to the nfl. Eason will bring instant credibility, just from being a productive player in the nfl for so long.

He’s fairly new to coaching at the college level but that shouldn’t matter. Recruiting is where he may need help and Dabo is certainly the guy that can help him there.

Thanks for the perspective, colberttiger.

Coaching credibility is the first requirement; if Nick Eason can use any tutoring from the right way to recruit (i.e., no BS'ing or lying to HS prospects), then he couldn't have a better tutor than Dabo the Great.

According to some of the fans on the Auburn board he was a great recruiter and brought in some dline studs this year. And they hate seeing him leave.

I'd heard the same. He was definitely one of the defensive leaders when he played here, really bright, really charismatic guy.

Add his playing pedigree to that and he's likely going to be really, really effective on the recruiting trail, NIL or no NIL, and he's going to get buy-in from his players.

Out-of-the-park homerun hire, and least on paper.
