Dumber end game coaching...Mack or Taggert

Both clearly went full ####, but who was worse? Taggert running the ball and the clock? Or Mack giving the cucks a chance? Yes Mack won... but wow that was stupid.

Mack gets a mulligan in my eyes because he's coming out of retirement. Taggert has no excuse.

Mack gets a mulligan because he's senile and probably thought it was 3rd down.

Never seen anything like what UNC did at the end. Don’t know how one of the other coaches or even a player didn’t just tackle the moron that said “take a knee” on 4th down on our own 45 and give them 11 seconds to beat us. Catastrophically stupid. Had he not just been hired he should have been fired for not stopping that by running out on the field or something.

11 seconds on the clock and in your own territory...and you knee the ball instead of punting?
HECK, You could even have the QB in a shotgun formation and have him run backward zigzagging (Just make sure he knees it in the endzone with no time left or let him throw up the pass as far as he can downfield)
Mack doesn't get a pass for that.
At least Willie's end of game antics had some smarts in making sure there was little time on the clock for the march downfield - probably too confident in his offense to move at will.

Down 21-20, Allbarn scores a td to take a 26-21 lead. The receiver that scored the td spiked the ball and got an unsportsmanlike penalty which Oregon accessed on the kickoff.
Mistake #1: Ol’ Gus kicked the PAT, didn’t go for 2, and led 27-21. A td and PAT by Oregon and you lose now.
Mistake #2: From HIS OWN 20, dumdum squib kicks it. Oregon returns it to the Allbarn 36 with 3 seconds left.
Mismanagement all over the place!

UNC taking the knee gets no mulligan at all. That was stupid beyond description.

Brown figured a punt return for a TD was more likely than Bently converting a hail marry. LOL

Should have thrown a long pass in the end zone or had the QB do a pooch kick.

Okay, your choices were: 1)punt it, have it blocked and run back for a score; 2)punt it, have it fielded and run back for a score; 3)punt it, have something stupid happen where you get tagged for 15 yards, setting up a first down at your own 35; or 4)kneel down, turn it over at midfield, and assume that the guy who hasn't managed to throw an accurate deep pass all day is going to continue not to hit a deep pass. Mack was way smarter than the announcer seemed to grasp.

Mack knew the math he was playing with. Special teams was the only good thing the coots had last night. A few were almost returned for TD’s

Sorry I thought what I saw Saturday was the dumbest thing but your list of possibilities blows that away. You do realize these teams practice all sorts of things, including rugby style punts that roll out of bounds maybe 35 yards downfield giving USC one play from their own 15-20? If you’re scared to execute a punt that will burn clock as well as push field position then you probably are a crappy coach.

I think we can agree Mack is not a crappy coach, so there goes that theory.

Taggart is the worst coaching hire in the history of college football.

What is so bad is that these guys are making more money this year than we will likely make in our lifetime.

Assuming Mack did have a senior moment, no one on his staff spoke up? Maybe Mack needs a "get the down and distance right " coach instead of a "get back" coach.
